Alex Sorensen: Elite 1 Spotlight Preview

Name: Alex Sorensen
Class: 2016
School: Southside High School (New York)
Height: 6’3”
AAU: Game 7 Elite

The accolades Alex has received throughout high school speak for themselves. The All-State guard has a skill set that makes him a serious threat with the ball in his hands.

Coming up through Southside High School, Alex has refined his game little by little and as a result is being considered by multiple division 1 programs. He told me, “I’ve really improved my shot a lot since my freshman year. I was always a stronger guard who could get to the rim, but now that my perimeter game is better it really opens the floor.”

To succeed at the next level he will have to improve his overall quickness and footwork on defense, but he is confident that he can do so, “My trainer has been working really hard on my speed and agility; it is really coming along.”

After a strong junior season and some standout performances for Game 7 Elite, he has received interest from Stony Brook, Boston University, and Brown among others. To go with his basketball talent, Alex is also a spectacular student. He has drawn heavy interest from some of the best academic Division 2 and Division 3 schools in the country.

He knows his grades are the key to a strong life after basketball, and is focused on maintaining them. Before that however, he will attend Hoop Group Elite Session 1 and is sure to attract a wide array of college coaches.
