Juan’ya Green Hoop Group College Alum of the Week

Congratulations to Juan’ya Green on being the Hoop Group Alum of the Week after averaging 23.5 points per game for the Niagara Purple Eagles. Green, who currently leads the all Division I freshmen in scoring at 19.9 points per game, first showed his knack to put the ball in the basket at Providence Jam Fest in 2007 playing for the Team Philly AAU squad. Green started the week with a team-high 25 points in carrying the Purple Eagles to a 79-76 win over Hartford. On Tuesday night, Green had 22 points in a losing effort as Niagara fell to Drexel. Although just a freshman, Green preparedness for the rigors of Division I basketball (26th in the country in scoring) is due to largely to playing under the tutelage of Paul Romanczuk for 4 years at Archishop Carroll.
