Philadelphia is considered one of the hotbeds for basketball talent as far as the northeast goes. Rising senior, Austin Harriott is a product of the city and is showing why it is so highly regarded. At 6’4”, he is a versatile wing with a college-ready body.

Now starring for The Hun School, Austin is showing a polished game that has gotten NJIT and Robert Morris to offer him thus far. He has also received interest from Holy Cross, Loyola (Md.), William & Mary, Quinnipiac, Brown, and St. Francis (PA) among others.

His improvement over the past few seasons has been dramatic. He told me, “I’ve learned a lot about what my role is in any given possession. I have to make the right play for my team every time I touch the ball. I have also gotten a lot more athletic, which has really help my defensive game.”

Austin’s intangible improvements are accompanied by strength and body control. His ability to penetrate, rebound and shoot make him a matchup problem for both forwards and guards. As he moves forward, he will work on extending his range, refining his ball handling and playing intelligently.

He will spend this summer going to: Hoop Group Elite Session 1 (July 7-10), Hoop Group Team Camp (July 11-12), Hoop Group Elite Session 2 (July 14-17), Hoop Group Summer Jam Fest (July 17-19), Hoop Group Buzzer Beater (July 25-26), and possibly Hoop Group Elite Academic Session 2 (July 21-24). Expect several more Austin Harriott offers to be announced before this summer is over.
