Key players:
Reed Fenton– 6’4 point guard two guard he was the leading scorer in Western Pa class 6A, big time athlete, Shooter playmaker has interests from almost all Patriots, Ivy’s, Iowa, LSU will explode this AAU season. Father played at Lehigh and uncle played at Bucknell.

Dan Petcash– 6’5 two guard- Left handed long athlete very great shooter, excellent off the bounce, had one of the top five dunks in Pittsburgh this year. All patriot league, MAAC and IVY schools. Brother plays at Boston University.

Bryce Butler– 6’5- guard/forward He is a high motor versatile athlete will dunk you and shoot the three. Plays incredibly hard changes the game with his motor. Brother as a freshman was all rookie team in Patriot league was one of Holy Cross’ leading scorers Dad was a division 1 player. Top three scorer in the WPIAL class 6A.

Thomas Melonja-6’7 Stretch forward great shooter and great handles for his size high motor high IQ really runs the floor well great rebounder.

Bobby Clifford– 6’3 guard played for Allderdice High School was top player in Pittsburgh City league lefty flew under radar all he did was lead his team to 22 straight victories and shoots it as well as anyone in the state tough hard nosed competitor high IQ.

Amante Britt– top point guard in Pittsburgh schools all-time leading scorer. Over 12 d2 offers

Keenan Holmes– 6’2 guard physical and athletic freak plays point and two guard tough on ball defender great body hard nosed tough competitor. Was one of the top scorer in PIAA class 3A basketball. Big time student.

Marcus Might-6’7 center forward a load on the block, tough physical seeks contact banger, but highly skilled, can pass handle and shoot big time post passer.

 

Team analysis: Training and developing players is a mainstay of the PK Flash program. The Flash do a tremendous job in regards to developing our players in all aspects of the game. They pride themselves as a program known for having talented, hard working, high IQ players, who play team oriented basketball. As a result, many of the players who have played for the PK Flash have gone on to compete at Division I, II, and III level. “This will be the best 17u group we have had,” said coach Joe Lewandowski “We have 8 guys who are division 1 players on the roster in 17u.” Be on the lookout everyone, the PK Flash are on the way and ready to make some noise in the HGSL!

Team analysis: Crown Basketball is based out of Long Island, New York. Over the past 5 years, the program has progressively gotten better across the board. This year is the deepest the program has ever been across the high school levels. Brendan McGuire, Sean Braithwaite and Cam Wynter are all receiving division 1 interest. “We have been coming to Hoop Group events every year since we started CROWN, we are excited to be playing in the HGSL this coming season. Truly first class events, exposure and competition!”

Stat to know: Crown has its own facility located in Long Island, New York.

Team analysis: Metro Boston is one of the most consistent AAU programs in regards to producing a solid team in the past 20 years. “We’ve been operating since 1997: same name, same program. We have over 140+ alumni that have graduated from colleges (D1, D2, D3) across the country and that’s the number we’re most proud of,” said coach Mo Vasquez. This year is no different. Expect Metro Boston to raise hell in the HGSL this year. “Last year’s HGSL Team was fortunate to get 3 guys signed D1 and the reminder of the guys, with the exception of the two going to prep school this year, is almost signed and sealed across colleges throughout the US.”

Stat to know: Shabazz Napier, former UConn standout and current Portland Trail Blazer is an alumni of this program.

Team analysis: The York Ballers have built a impressive program full of student-athletes that attract college coaches from every level. Program director/17’s coach Pat McGlynn has built a program that with the combination of high level talent, toughness, and smart play expects to win at every major tournament.

This years team has nice depth and a cast of players with D1 potential. Zack Sabol has interests from American East, NEC and Patriot schools. Keith Davis is gaining traction as well with Patriot schools. Casey Jack has nabbed the attention of NEC and Patriot schools. Jalen Gorham has the Ivy schools courting him. Brandon McGlynn has D2 offers but has D1 potential.

Stat to know: Indiana commit Jake Forrester is an alumni to the York Ballers.
