Devin Robinson’s stock keeps soaring since #PittJamFest

The last month has been a whirlwind for Devin Robinson.

The 6-foot-7 wing made a name for himself last summer but lost most of his national buzz playing at small Christ Church School (Va.). After a breakout performance at Pitt Jam Fest in April with Richmond Squires, Robinson quickly gained that buzz back – and then some.

Establishing himself as an elite-level national prospect, Robinson has cemented that Top 50 status this weekend with the Squires at Southern Jam Fest.

“I just didn’t worry about it,” Robinson said about his reputation tailing off a bit during the winter. “Nobody heard about me even though I kept playing well.”

“I was just working on my game every day. I knew had to come out on the circuit and go off.”

Showing off one of the nation’s most versatile skill sets to go along with elite athleticism, Robinson did just that in Pittsburgh in front of top Division I coaches and some of the world’s biggest basketball media presences.

“My stock has risen a lot,” the rising senior said.

It’s not only in the national rankings that Robinson’s performances have made an impact; his list of offers is becoming a who’s who of high-major programs. Among the schools that have offered are Cincinatti, Xavier, Florida State, Virginia Tech, VCU, UConn, Notre Dame, and Southern Cal.

Robinson added that national champion Louisville has expressed heavy interest and that he believes the Cardinals are close to extending a scholarship offer.

While Robinson’s impact on the floor is undeniable, some express a desire that he shows more aggression and demands the ball more often on the offensive end.

“I like to get my teammates involved first before I look our for myself,” the Richmond native explained.

“I’m a leader, I let the game come to me.”

A consummate team-first player, Robinson is constantly praising his teammates for their effort on the floor. In a whistle-heavy Saturday afternoon win over Team Sizzle (Md.), Robinson scored 19 points in the first half before fouling out with ten minutes remaining. Throughout his time on the bench down the stretch, Robinson cheered on his teammates.

“[My teammates] are great. They go hard, that’s what I like.”
