9:36AM– Campers going hard this morning with stations. First round of games are set to begin at 9:55AM.  Be sure to check out the list of Top Performers from yesterday’s action. Sited a few Philly high school teammates Basil Thompson and Jalil Myers (Imhotep Charter Pa.). The pair have looked solid going through drills this morning.  Going to be interesting to see what players that will emerge themselves on Day Two. #BeElite.- @CabWashington

9:55AM- One of the best things about the Hoop Group Elite Sessions is the great amount of international talent that comes here. Frenchman Florent Bouttier (Vaugelas, Chamley, France) may not be the most popular name here, but through one day of basketball, he might have the smoothest jumpshot of anyone here. Florent is just another example of why The Hoop Group Elite Camps are the best around! –@JakerBaker58

10:15AM- Great to see talent from ALL of the 5 Boroughs! Staten Island getting great representation from PG Ivanka Dissanayake (Staten Island Academy, Staten Island, NY) here at The Hoop Group Elite 2 Camp! –@JakerBaker58

10:33AM- The Great State of New Jersey has a ton of campers this week, even a few from rival schools. Jack Fay (Manasquan High School, Spring Lake, New Jersey) is showing off his skills on how to run the offense as a PG, while Robbie Kennedy (Christian Brothers Academy, Spring Lake, New Jersey) is bringing his polished, all-around game to a whole new level this week. Got to love the Spring Lake foes going at it in Reading, PA! –@JakerBaker58

10:59AM- After doing a great job assisting former Virginia Tech Hokies Coach Seth Greenberg in his dribbling demonstration, Luka Petkovic(Deerfield Prep, Deerfield, MA) is shining again today, hitting a few outside jump shots and getting great penetration into the middle of the defense. Looks like someone payed close attention last night! –@JakerBaker58

11:16AMJamil Hood (Green Tech HS N.Y. 2014)  and Marko Kozul (Archbishop Molloy N.Y. 2013) were a nice tandem as they led their team to 65-61 victory in their first outing on the day. Hood showed great athleticism as he was able to really lead the break for his team in transition. He also finished a nice two-handed dunk early in the second half. Kozul had a nice game distributing the ball as well. –@CabWashington

11:21AM- Rachid Shimou(Piscataway High School, Piscataway, NJ) hits a 3 at the buzzer to win by 2! Another New Jersey kid stepping up big at Hoop Group Elite 2! #BeElite! –@JakerBaker58

1:33PM- Another set of games about to get under way here at Albright College. Looking forward to seeing Laterrence Reed(Canisius, Buffalo, New York), Kyle Prunty(Wadsworth High School, Wadsworth, Ohio) and Anthony Gray(Flint Hill, Oakton, Virginia) compete this afternoon! This should be a very exciting day here at Elite 2 Camp! –@JakerBaker58

1:56PM-Heated contest between Team 18 and Team 17. Team 18 behind the cast of Tyler Kohl (Trenton Catholic, N.J. 2015), Donte’ Divincenzo (Salesianum, Del. 2015), Cameron Gregory (St. Stephens/ St Agnes, Md. 2014) and Ramone Burt (Green Tech HS, N.Y. 2014) edged the opposition by a final score of 62-56. Among their cast, Gregory stated that he was receiving D-1 offers from over 15 programs. The 6-6 left handed wing had an impressive outing as he finished a few dunks in transition and also showed a nice stroke from beyond the arc. With most offers coming from Patriot and Ivy League affiliates, Gregory said that Bucknell, Kennesaw, Loyola (Md.), Princeton and Harvard are schools that have showed high interest. –@CabWashington

2:00PM- Before they play their next set of games today, the campers are sitting down to listen to Jeremy McCool, who is here to teach them about life after High School. Jeremy is about to deliver a lecture on NCAA Eligibility and what it takes off the court to play basketball at the next level. Our campers only get the best and most important teaching here at The Hoop Group Elite Sessions! #BeElite is not just about basketball, its about life as well! –@JakerBaker58

2:40PM- Jonathan Middleton(Holy Spirit, Absecon, NJ) starts off this next set of games with a beautiful steal and a coast-to-coast lay in for 2 quick points! And on our other court, Rahji Johnson(The Highland School, Warrenton, VA) has done a great job of getting to the hole and feeding his teammates! But will that be enough to beat the sharp shooting Frenchman, Florent Bouttier (Vaugelas, Chamley, France), who continues to shoot the lights out? You have to love the talent here at The Hoop Group Elite 2 Camp! –@JakerBaker58

3:10PM- The guard combo of Anthony Tate(Takoma Academy, Takoma Park, MD.) and the aforementioned Florent Bouttier has been lethal, guiding their team to a double degit lead! Lots of basketball still to be played here at Albright College! –@JakerBaker58

3:45PM- Lots of great competition here this afternoon, we even had two games come down to just 3 points! But in this next set, Jon Martin of Heritage High School, Palm Bay, Florida has helped his team get out to and 18-0 lead! –@JakerBaker58

4:28PM- Maurice Henry of Chester (Pa.) High School had a clear path to the hoop and took advantage of it, slamming the ball down with authority and, after hanging around for a second, safely brought himself back to earth. –@AndrewKoob

4:55PM- Shakur Juiston(Irvington High School, Irvington, NJ) has been putting on a dunking clinic this afternoon. While he failed to convert on a Jordan-esque attempt down the lane, he still converted three others and lead his team to an Overtime Victory. On the sidelines people were taking notice of his Big Air abilities, inching closer and closer to the court everytime he touched the ball! –@JakerBaker58

5:33PM- Looks like someone was listening to Seth Greenberg last night! When talking about how big men make it in college basketball, Coach Greenberg preached that the best thing that big men can do for their team is run the floor. Matthew Klinewski(Eastern Regional, Vorhees, NJ) has been doing just that here today. The big man has several baskets and two converted free throws by way of tremendous hustle leading to the fast break! How do we know this gets noticed by college coaches? Well, the soon to be Senior has already verbally committed to Lafayette College! Division 1 Basketball and an excellent education, that’s how to #BeElite! –@JakerBaker58

5:46PM- Rising junior Ceasar Dejesus (Teaneck, N.J. 2015)  had a monster one-handed slam that caught the attention of almost everybody in the gym. Players on court 2 of Albright’s recreational facility couldn’t even help themselves from taking a glimpse over at the scene. Known for his high-flying, Dejesus took the ball to the basket and flushed a LBJ-style tomahawk jam over three defenders. The play was even more spotlighted because it occurred just as time expired. Dejesus has ruled out Rutgers, Wake Wake Forest, Santa Clara and Cincinnati as programs that are showing interest. – @CabWashington

We expect tomorrow to bring the same level of excitement, and even more talent from beginning to end. The race for Mr. Social is heating up as well, and outside of just learning basketball, the campers got a great lesson in Eligibility for the NCAA! We are covering all the bases here at Hoop Group, and we’ve still got a lot ahead of us. Check back in tomorrow for the Day 3 Blog, and remember, #BeElite! The Blog is now CLOSED. –@JakerBaker58
