Kyran Bowman defies the science of gravity.

The high-flying combo guard was previously a commit of UNC Football, but after his basketball game started to develop he gave up the pigskin to focus on basketball. Since then his remarkable athleticism and high-energy play has captured the eyes of division 1 schools everywhere.

There is still a lot to be seen from the former wide receiver. His shot making ability and intelligence on the offensive end is an underrated part of his game that could bring him to the next level. Coach Daniel Griffee told me, “His shot is improving now that he is focusing on basketball, but what people don’t see is the intangibles. He is our best rebounder and is the team leader. I can leave him with the practice plan and have confidence that he will run a great practice. When his teammates walk in the gym, they see him and know it is time to work. Anything less than a win is unacceptable.”

Averaging over 24 points per game over his past two seasons, Kyran is a walking highlight reel. Defensively, he is tremendous on the perimeter with his long arms and tenacious mindset. East Carolina has expressed their interest in him with an offer and several others have followed suit. Coach Griffee mentioned Miami, Cincinnati, and South Carolina as possible suitors.

With his commitment to Hoop Group Elite Session 2, people have been talking about how high he could rise in the coming weeks. Schools will get to see a work horse who plays with strong energy and a passion for getting better. Griffee mentioned, “Whoever gets him is getting a steal.”
