The first thing I want people to know about this up coming season, is this! Jackson Memorial has the second most talented five in the Shore Conference. Stephanie Mason has just continued to blow away college coaches with her improvement and play this fall. Tiffany Montagne who is also a division 1 player that colleges have just discovered has been great this fall. Throw in an improved Shannon Evans with already proven shooter Hannah Missry and you have as good a starting five this side of Manasquan. Speaking of Evans she has had a few division 1 schools ask about her. The junior may surprise a lot of people this season.
St. Rose added two big parts to their machine. People, Catherine Phipps will be one of the best freshmen in the STATE. She can do everything and is tough as nails. Now don’t be surprised if this young lady starts right out of the gate. The other big part to this team is Maeve Smith. She is everything St. Rose needs! She is another big post player that will set picks for “The Package” aka… KC Chambers and work the high/low passing game with the Great Sami Clark. Speaking of Sam Clark, people this young lady is going to have a BIG BIG YEAR! I still can’t believe Fordham got her!
Are you sleeping on Middletown South? Ready for this – they have one of the best coaches in the state in Tom Brennan who also happens to be one the best people in the state as well. Kiera Gannon my friend is sure to find here way on a college roster in two years. This kid is so good it’s scary and people will not recognize Jackie Dluhi this season. She can play three positions and is now deadly on the outside. Middletown South is really going to be a tough out for anyone.
Now how about this people… RBC is trying to sneak under the radar…LOL. Trust me the Yankees of the Jersey Shore and their super classy coach are going to be one talented and deep team. Ready? Caroline Corcoran is simply one of the best shooters and passers in the shore. She will be a D1 player one day…Recently at an open gym in Pt Boro she stole the show with her shooting and all around play. Mary Caverly is as good a point guard as RBC has had in recent years. She can shoot, defend and make plays…if you are a Patriot school or a Ivy team get busy recruiting this young lady. She will work until her hands and feet bleed…the kid is a total winner! Now have you forgotten about two of most talented players in the Shore? Morgan Arnott for my money is still one of the most gifted and underrated players in recent years…College coaches call Joe Montano NOW!
I promise you he will agree with me about this young lady. If you are a div 2 school and you’re not recruiting this kid… Find a new job. She would a stud at the highest level of D2. But I still think she is a Div 1 PLAYER. Does anyone want to check my track record on these type things? I have not been wrong very often?
Now what about Grace Fallon? Her stock is the elephant in the room and it’s a big elephant. If she can shake off the rust after the lacrosse season, she could be as good as any player in the Shore. She is that good and this season people are going to be shocked what this kid is capable of doing…EVERY DIV 1 SCHOOL ON THE EAST COAST BETTER GET ON THIS KID. She comes from one of the best families known to man kind and is a great kid…no SUPER KID. So you think that is enough for RBC to get by this year? Well I got news for you; RBC has more talent if you can believe. Alex Alfano is getting serious interest from D1 schools. I recently had a D1 school ask about her. Me being so smart I said I didn’t know her. Thank God Beth Chambers reminded me of who she was. She also played great in front of college coaches at Villanova! Alex Alfano is another great kid. Oh wait RBC is not done people there also have another impact, freshman Alex Barazotti will no doubt be in the RBC rotation and play a major role for Joe. She is a great passer and scorer who plays so HARD! It’s strange Joe always seems to have great kids. I wonder why? Let me guess the man running the show is one of the best in the business….by the way Morgan Arnott PLEASE COME TO CORE SKILLS NEXT WEEK!
Speaking of Villanova, Sam Sabino of RFH was easily along with Steph Mason of Jackson were the talk of the weekend, when it came to Shore Players. Now I would list the schools that called me about Sabino but it would take for forever…I received two calls from Big East schools including Rutgers, 3 NEC schools one of those NEC schools was Quinnipiac and the only reason I bring them up is because Coach Mountain for my money is the best in the business at finding kids early and working them over a period of time. This is why he stole Guastella last year. He is simply one of the best assistant coaches I know! Back to Sabino I had two MAAC schools and finally an A-10 school. People she is only a freshman…Speaking of freshman RFH Grace Stant will be back up and working again next week. College coaches were asking about her all weekend. She has a minor injury and should be back soon. Stant may be one of the best freshmen Sir George has ever had. No doubt she will be a major in force in the shore for years before moving on to a top 20 college program. Grace I missed your birthday…but I did not forget..lol!
Dawn Karpell’s SJV has to be considered a real threat again folks. Transfer Jill Brunori is a stud. I had a chance to watch her at core skill and let me tell you this. She is the real deal and without a doubt an all shore type player and Division one player. This kid could put SJV over the top this season. Just when Dawn is out….they pull her back in…lol.
Kate Egan will be out for two weeks…better now than later. She has a minor foot injury.
Sneaky, Sneaky, Sneaky! I’m talking about Colts Neck. Coach Healey daughter Katie is going to be the premier point in the Shore one day. I just love her leadership skills and ability to make those around her better!
Speaking of the future, there are 3 division one point guards entering the Shore Conference next year! Nicole Morris who will attend RFH…Kelly Campbell the hardest working kid I have every meet. I’m not sure where she is going but she is a great guard. Funny Dawn Karpell is the master with guards…. hint hint Kelly! Finally Kelly Crouch of North Brunswick will no doubt end up in the Shore Conference as well. These kids are already out playing girls who are starting at high schools. Rutgers has already expressed an interest in both Campbell and Morris. Yes folks the colleges are starting earlier and earlier. But don’t get it twisted people the one who may be the best of the three one day is Kelly Crouch. It will fun watching all three do battle each other over the next four years because all three are impact players from day 1…. Oh yeah they are total gym rats!
Can somebody please tell me why the high school season is starting even later this year? This is a joke, they don’t let coaches work with their players and now they want them to get ready for a season in two weeks….NONSENSE!
OPEN GYM- Their will be an open gym with div 2 and 3 coaches this Friday at hoop group. The first 40 are in. We hope kids will take advantage of this!
Word to the wise…Core Skills Pre-Season prep start on Tuesday at 5.30…Trust me when I tell you this…nothing you can do will prepare you more for you season than this program…Email DCohen@hoopgroup.com or call 732 897 3196….If you are a talented player who is not on the radar come down and join us!
