2014-15 HOOP GROUP GIRLS ALL SHORE TEAMS

The Hoop Group 2014-15 ALL SHORE TEAMS
are  a collection of some of the best talent in New Jersey.  All together we have an MacDonald All American, Kerwin Award winner, the 2014 Hoop Group Player of the year. It includes a record breaking three point shooter. Finally our ALL SHORE TEAMS has two of the best sophomores, on the east coast. The talent in this year’s  ALL SHORE TEAM  follows the tradition of  great players preforming at the highest level.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS YEARS 2014-15 ALL SHORE TEAM

I have never had such a easier time picking the ALL SHORE First Team, the players who make up the first team had far and away the best seasons of any other players.  But leaving Katlynn Kuster off first team broke my heart. She had a monster year and carried her team. The 2nd and 3rd Teams were a real issue. What to do with Courtney Hagaman and Stella Clark?  There is a clear numbers game when it comes to the Shore Conference. Leaving STELLA CLARK OF MANASQUAN  and CHE’KASHA ANDREWS of Long Branch off is a total embarrassment. I feel I owe both players an apology, both I believe  are special talents. Both have a very good chance of one day being D1 players. but got caught up in the number game.. We have one BCS player and 5 D1 commits who will not make any team. But that is nothing new, because we have had  a high of 3 BCS players and 7 D1 players not make All Shore in pervious years. These players were great players but got caught up in a numbers came as well.  This year every player on the ALL SHORE TEAMS HAS VERBALED OR HAS A D1 OFFER EXCEPT TWO. One of the players will have multiple offers by summers end. The other is a senior with D1 potential, who is playing out the recruiting process.  I want to be very clear Seniors were given total priority  when picking all the teams. A underclassmen needed to be clearly better to get the edge… I want to say Congratulations to all of the 2014-15 ALL SHORE MEMBERS…. I take this very serious but will remind everyone its an opinion not a fact who the best players were in the Shore Conference this year.

2014-15 FIRST TEAM ALL SHORE( players listed in alphabetical order)

Squan-v-SJV-Girls-24-Feb-15-24-493x630 KELLY CAMPBELL- 5’9″-JUNIOR-COMBO GUARD- ST. JOHN VIANNEY HIGH SCHOOL

No player in the Shore has matured more than Kelly Campbell. I’ve known Kelly since biddy ball, she was and will always be the hardest worker in the gym.  She became a true leader this year and opened up a new bag of goodies for everyone to see this year. She stepped up her defense and became one of the best rebounding guards in the Shore Conference. She also became the BEST CLOSER in the Shore Conference. She averaged 15.5 points a game vs. Teams Ranked in the Top 10/Top 20/ Tri State Ranked Top 15. But stats don’t come close to measuring the value of Kelly Campbell to the SJV team this season. She led SJV to wins over Manasquan and RFH this season both teams ranked in the Top 5 most of the season. Kelly Campbell will continue her career at DePaul University, in Chicago. But first she will return next season to lead a roster that loses not one player next year. Campbell’s maturity and growth will be even bigger asset to Coach Karpell and SJV next season.

b5-442x630 STEPHAINE KARCZ-5’9″-JUNIOR- COMBO GUARD- MIDDLETOWN SOUTH HIGH SCHOOL

She is a walking one women wrecking and defensive machine and she returns to the All Shore FIRST TEAM  for a second year in a row. She and Jess Louro are they only returning members.  In case you forgot she is still only a junior and will return next season. NO PLAYER has had more of a impact on a program that Stephanie Karcz has in the past 3 years. Notice all the best babies are flocking to Middletown South now, Karcz has made it cool to stay home, drama free and win. Despite being double and triple teamed all year she averaged 17.3 points a game and 7 rebounds vs. Teams Ranked in the Top 10/ Top20/ Tri State Top 15. She was a beast All Season and had 7 double/doubles and 2 triple doubles. Her total disregard to her body might be considered dangerous by some, this girl is soooo rare because not only is she your best player but she hustles like no other. She is the most in demand junior left on the recruiting board. The college that gets her will have a player who has done more in a short time that any player in recent history for a program. She has led Middletown South to a Sectional title and it’s first State title in school history. Her impact simply cannot be put in words…

JESS LOURO-5’9″- SENIOR-SWING- ST. ROSE HIGH SCHOOL

Last years Hoop Group Player of the year, returns for 2nd year in a row to our 1st Team ALL Shore. The 5’9″ multi- talented Jess Louro will suit up for BCS powerhouse MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERISTY next year. Louro will cap off one of the most successful two year runs in Shore history with a  chance to win a TOC title. Her decision to leave Wall High School as a freshman has paid off handsomely.  She was a walking Double/ Double this season.  While she played out of position at times, it has actually made her a more complete and dominate player. Here biggest moments seem to always come in the biggest games against the best opponents.  While all of that  is great and adds up to the great person that is Jess, the thing I love most about Ms. Louro is her toughness and ability to lead her team mentally.  Louro scored her 1000th point this year and will be know as one of the best players in St. Rose history. She average a double /double against teams Ranked in the Top 10/ Top 20/ Tri- State Top 15 with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

bilde MARINA MABREY-6’0″-SENIOR-SWING- MANASQUAN HIGH SCHOOL

Do we really have enough space to explain her impact on Manasquan basketball? She will try to cap off one the best careers in New Jersey history with a TOC title. She has won just about every award. Gatorade Player of the Year, The Asbury Park Player of the Year, the Kerwin Award and has played on the USA National team. Her attitude toward the game makes opponents dislike her, her thirst for winning and competing make her a hard teammate, but Marina Mabrey is a competitor meant to play at the highest level of division one basketball. This is why she will be attending one of the top 3 programs in all of America…NOTRE DAME. To say she shows up in big games is like saying a fat kid loves cake. She averaged an astonishing 27 points a game against teams ranked in the Top 10/Top 20/ Tri State Top 15. She has become the ultimate leader over the past 4 years. She scored her 2000th point this year while leading her team to their 2nd consecutive SCT title. The ultimate Warrior and teammate.

kat phipps st. rose KAT PHIPPS- 5’6″-SENIOR-SHOOTING GUARD- ST.ROSE HIGH SCHOOL

She destroyed the state record for most three’s this season. She averaged 21 points a game vs. Teams Ranked in the Top 10/ Top 10/ Tri State Top 15 including a show stopping 32 point performance  in a win over Manasquan. This has been the biggest rise of one players status in a single season, that we have ever seen. This however should not be a surprise because Kat Phipps turned into a gym rat. Kat Phipps’s has been one of the best players in New Jersey All Year.  He season high 42 points in a game earlier this season was the Shore high point mark of the year. She will continue her career at NCAA participate St. Francis of NY next year. What’s so sweet about the end of Phipps career is how she has delivered while all opposition game planned to shut her game down. They brag and dance when they hold her to 10 points, the ultimate compliment.  On Monday she will play for the TOC title in a re-match against Manasquan. Along with Jess Louro she has been part of the most explosive duo in the Shore as well as the state. Kat Phipps has had one of the most dominate statistical seasons in recent shore history.
