An Early Look At The ACC

2. UNC Tar Heels

There is recent speculation surrounding the Heels as to whether they will be able to pull off yet another season as strong as their last. Justin Jackson will likely be gone to the draft. Isaiah Hicks and Kennedy Meeks have expired their time. Yet amongst their losses, there are silver linings. Recent addition of conference rival Pittsburgh’s Cam Johnson is one of them. Johnson’s full release from Pittsburgh was cleared, which means that he is eligible to play immediately for the Heels. Along with Johnson comes a very solid class of recruits, including five star recruit Jalek Felton and two four star recruits.

The loss of offensive threat Justin Jackson cannot go overlooked, however. It won’t be easy for Coach Williams to fill that role; enter the versatility of Cam Johnson. If Johnson is able to step up and provide offensive talent as a transfer that UNC has not had in years past, the combination of him and UNC’s returning experienced talent such as Joel Berry II in the back court can give the Tar Heels the season they want.
