Previewing the Pac-12

USC Trojans

USC played themselves into the field of 64 and used their momentum to upset an SMU team that many fans and bracketologists were high on. The Trojans sport arguably the best front court in the conference in Bennie Boatwright and Chimezie Metu. Both players are dynamic bigs who will be major pieces to USC’s success next season. Boatwright is a little more polished in the paint than Metu, but both are more than capable to lead the team on offense. Adding ESPN Top 50 recruit Charles O’Bannon on the wing will only help solidify what is already a strong front court returning.

The back court will feature senior Jordan McLaughlin, who averaged 12.9 points and 5.5 assists per game. Andy Enfield will also have Derryck Thornton eligible after sitting out a season. Thornton was a promising freshman at Duke two years ago before he left due to the arrival of Frank Jackson. After sitting out a year, but practicing with the team, he should make immediate impact for the Trojans.
