8:00AM- Campers are getting into the gym for attendance and we are minutes away from a full day of basketball action. Follow here for all of the updates on today’s action. –@AndrewKoob

8:40AM- Great to see a lot of campers getting their station workouts in. A big part in how to #BeElite is practicing Elite as well! We also had a TON of tweets last night! You can definitely see a lot of people putting in the time to be Mr. Social! –@JakerBaker58

9:44PM- Stations are about to wrap up and games will soon be underway. Plenty of energy through the first two hours, we’ll definitely be seeing that throughout the day. –@AndrewKoob

10:20AM- Trent Mitchell(Wall HS, Wall, NJ) has really stepped his game up this morning with some hustle plays that included multiple attempts at taking charges and deflecting passes. He knows what it takes to #BeElite! –@JakerBaker58

10:55AM– There were a lot of nice performances on display early on this morning. It looks like the message that was presented by Coach Danny Nee last night has resonated in the minds of a lot these players. The added effort was there this morning and it carried over into the morning set of games. Mitch Cohen (Sparta, N.J. 2014) really impressed in his first game. He showed off his nice ability to post up as well as find the open man when he saw a double-team. He also had a nice two-handed slam on a leak out. The kid looks like he’s set to have a good week and entice some college coaches.- @CabWashington

11:45AM- Alexander Wear(Mount St. Joseph, Baltimore, MD) has been impossible to cover today. Standing at 6’10, the center has been a force down on the block, and has the ability to step outside and knock down a jump shot. He’s been involved in every possession, probably thanks to the excellent teaching of Coach Danny Nee who preaches rewarding the running big man! –@JakerBaker58

1:57PM- Midway through the second day of Academic Elite 2 and here are some of the schools in attendance:
Wilkes University, Bryn Athyn College, Fredonia State, Bowdoin College, Penn State-Harrisburg, Ithaca College, Sarah Lawrence College, Marywood University, Marymount University, College of Staten Island, Elmira College, Hunter College, Haverford College, Franklin & Marshall, Misericordia, Moravian, Cabrini, York College, FDU-Florham, Widener, Washington College, Albright College. –@pfebbraro

3:20PM- The campers are done with their seminar and are ready for the second half of the day. We have plenty of games to be played today, with a lot of young campers having the chance to #BeElite! Games should be underway shortly! –@JakerBaker58

3:50PM- The afternoon games have begun! Great to see a lot of hustle on both ends of the floor! A few familiar faces have caught our eyes today, as Austin White(St. Peter’s Prep, Jersey City, NJ) and Robbie Kennedy(Christian Brothers Academy, Spring Lake, NJ) have been showcasing a point guard battle here in the afternoon session. Both campers squared off in the Elite Team Camp this past weekend, as St. Peter’s beat CBA to make it to the Finals of the National Division(they would lose to Blair Academy). –@JakerBaker58

4:25PM- Marshall Macheledt(Greensboro Day School, Greensboro, NC) has been an absolute beast at camp! Defensively, he contests every shot with his 6’8 frame and on the offensive side, he is a bully down low, setting up as a nice target for the entry pass in the post every time. Marshall also stood out last night in coach Danny Nee‘s drills, running the floor well and knocking down three-point shots in transition. Whenever he and Alexander Wear face up, I will be watching! –@JakerBaker58

4:45PM- Johnnie Vassar (Jserra Catholic (Calif.) HS/ 6-0/ 2014), who has offers from SMU, USC and DePaul, had a solid game in the last game set. He was quick on both ends of the floor and and his skills at the point helped lead his team to a 52-45 victory. –@pfebbraro

5:25PM- There has been a lot of great basketball being played here today, but the tenacity of EJ Bermudez(Westwood Regional, Washington Township, NJ) is on a whole level of it’s own. Bermudez has been diving on loose ball after loose ball and really doing all the dirty work for his team. Even though they lost, EJ has a reason to hold his head high because he put all the energy he had into that last game. Working your tail off is a huge part on how to #BeElite! –@JakerBaker58

5:50PM- The week of the Big Men continues! Mitch Cohen has continued his strong play today as one of the many talented rim protectors here. With his great wingspan, Mitch has been able to get his hands on a few passes, creating deflections and forcing turnovers. Mitch is also the main feature on offense, seeing the ball in most of the possessions thus far. He’s rarely standing in the same plce twice, moving around and being a challenge to defend. He’s already made his mark at camp and will probably continue to showcase his all-around solid game. –@JakerBaker58

6:13PM- Shane Stevens (Immaculoata (N.J.)/ 5-11/ 2014) with a nice drive and finish in one game, while Trevor McGhie (Petrides (N.Y.)/ 5-9/ 2014) was burying 3’s and making steals on another court as evening action heats up in Bollman Center. –@pfebbraro

6:55PM- Uri Rahimi(Saint Andrew’s School, Saint Andrew’s, FL) has been slashing to the rim with ease tonight, as he has had very little trouble scoring from the perimeter and in the lane. The point guard’s team is also behind him as well, with everyone communicating well and the bench cheering and standing on every play. They sure know how to #BeElite! –@JakerBaker58

7:35PM- As a few of the evening games get started, Johnathan Sun has scored six early points for his team to take a 10-4 lead. Sun did a great job of moving without the ball and rolling to the basket after setting solid picks for his guards. You can tell that Sun has a good feel for the game, knowing when to roll to the bucket, and when to pop outside for the open jumper. –@JakerBaker58

7:58PM- James Porter (Abington (Pa.) HS/ 6-2/ 2016) with a nice steal and a full-court rush for a layup during a game in Bollman Center. –@pfebbraro

8:20PM- That noise you just heard was the Bollman Center erupting after seeing Jay Joyer(Shorecrest Prep, St. Petersburg, FL) tip slam a missed basket right over the entire defense! Maybe the defense will try to box him out this time, because that was nasty! –@JakerBaker58

9:00PM- Trent Mitchell continues to play well tonight. He’s got great form on his jumper and he’s playing excellent on-ball and help defense. But what he has excelled the most at tonight has been his point guard skills. The Rising Junior from Wall High School(NJ) has been attacking the defense and getting into the lane with ease, forcing contact on his way to the rim. If he’s not getting fouled, he’s doing a great job of not just finding the open man, but hitting him in the hands for the open shot(its not just important to pass to the open man, but to give him a pass that he can turn into an easy bucket). Mitchell is a naturally gifted athlete, and you can see that in the fast break, when he makes quick cuts through the defense, turning his defenders around left and right. Not everything in basketball is about what’s on the floor, however. After watching a few of Trent’s games, time and time again I’ve noticed the cheering on of his teammates and the attentiveness that he gives his coach. Another way to put it? This kid “gets it”! #BeElite@JakerBaker58

9:16PM- Joe Sherwood (Seton Hall Prep (N.J.)/ 6-5/ 2014) is a strong post presence in the final game set of the night. He is grabbing rebounds on the defensive end and on offense is boxing out well for second-chance points while dishing the ball out to teammates in order to create a better scoring opportunity. –@pfebbraro

9:48PM- Johnnie Vassar continues to shine as one of the top point guards at camp! Every time he gets the ball you have to be on your heels because you know he’s running with it! As @pfebbraro stated before, Vassar has offers from Depaul, USC and a handful of other schools. There’s no doubt that this guy has a bright future! –@JakerBaker58

10:25PM- Another great day of basketball is in the books! We had a lot of breakout performances, including young guys stepping up against Seniors and Big men running the floor and getting the spoils! Obviously Coach Nee’s presentation last night made an impression on the point guards. Tomorrow will be another very competitive day of basketball, and we should see even more improvement from all of our campers. But for today, we are going to call it a night! Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter as we update you through all the camps this summer! Thanks for joining us, we will do the same tomorrow! The LIVE Blog is now CLOSED! –@JakerBaker58
