Elite Basketball Player Diary- Nate Britt #3

NateBrittThe Christmas break was pretty exciting. I got a chance to chill for a few days and spend some time with the family. I spent some time with my grandmother on Christmas Day which was pretty fun. My family gave me more than I could ask for for Christmas. The day after Christmas was our teams first trip out of town during the season. We took a train down to Myrtle Beach for the Beach Ball Classic. Some of the best teams and players from all over the nation were there. Our first game in the tournament we beat J.L. Mann 74-55. The second day there was a chill day. We went shopping at some of the outlets. Later we played Tony Parker’s team Miller Grove. Though we lost our senior guard Cahli Thomas due to a broken collar bone. It was a pretty tough game that went into OT. Big Tony had a great game. Miller Grove won 67-59. The next day we played Rice in a consolation game without three starters. We lost 62-58. Throughout the tournament I feel like my team play hard, fought, and never gave up, and with some key players others stepped up. I’m happy with my teams performance even though we could have done better. I won the individual Sportsmanship Award. I feel this was a great tournament the we made some big steps in toward our goal of winning our conference championship this year. The break was great but it’s time to get back to work in the classroom and on the basketball court. The 3rd quarter is beginning and we have some big conference games coming up that we need to capitalize on!
