Xavier Harris Is A ShoreShot For College Basketball Coaches

Xavier Harris is back on the market.

Harris was committed to Penn and had planned on enrolling at the Ivy League school for the upcoming season. But due to a variety of reasons – including the hope that he can play for a bigger program – Harris has not only opened up his collegiate recruitment, but he is also currently shopping for a prep school in the fall.

Xavier Harris fights for position to grab one of his 17 rebounds in the middle of the paint.

“At this point, for me, it’s the most important thing,” Harris said when I asked him about the 10-12 Division I programs that saw him go for 15 points and 15 rebounds against Metroball DC in a 62-33 ShoreShots victory. “

That exposure is important for any player, but its magnified for Harris. He doesn’t have the profile of some others players as he has missed due to injury the past couple of summers.

“Its huge, getting out here and showing what I can do,” Harris said. “I missed a couple of summers due to injury.”

Harris doesn’t mind having to go through the recruiting process again. In fact, he’s almost looking forward to it.

“To some people it would be frustrating, but I just try to keep a positive mind that I’m going to succeed one way or another.”
