Sloan Seymour – HG Insider Player Spotlight

sloan seymour

Class of 2018 power forward Sloan Seymour is one of the most consistent shooters in the class of 2018. Seymour is an intriguing prospect as he stands 6’7” and is able to shoot the ball the way he does. The New York native does an excellent job stretching the defense. With the NY Renaissance this AAU season, he was someone who they rely on for a clutch shot or make a smart play down the stretch. At Oladipo Skills Academy, Seymour came out firing and proved not only that he belonged among some of the best in the country, but that he is able to standout against them. He also did a great job making the smart play at camp. His basketball I.Q. and awareness of what he does well on the court and executing are part of the reason why he is such an intriguing prospect. There were multiple schools who attended the camp so they got the chance to see what he is capable of. Seymour will head into the final stretch of the AAU season and high school season with a lot of schools tracking his development.

One of his biggest offers to come through comes from St. John’s who extended an offer to him last week. Every college needs shooters, which has made Seymour so valuable for teams at the next level. So far, Seymour has collected 13 offers and that list appears to be growing. At this point it’s too early to figure out who the leader in his recruitment would be, but one thing that can be guaranteed is that it will be an interesting one to follow with multiple schools jumping into the picture. Seymour is another prospect to watch as we head into the last couple of days of the AAU season.
