Niall Carpenter to play vital role for the Hun School

The Hun School, one of the top prep schools in New Jersey, will compete in the Hoop Group Tip-Off Showcase this Sunday against Linden. Head Coach Jonathan Stone will turn to senior guard Niall Carpenter to step up for his team this year. Carpenter has set personal and team goals for this high school season.

“My goal this season is to win the MAPL league tournament along with the state tournament,” said Carpenter. “I also to make the All-MAPL and All-state teams.”

Carpenter believes having the team focused and on the same page determines how successful they’ll be.

“A key for a successful season is that our team is always on the same page,” the class of 2016 guard said. “I also believe it is important that we all stay focused throughout the entire season and that we don’t have any lapses anywhere in the season.”

He will play an important role for Hun this year, which he has prepared for in the offseason.

“What I have done to prepare for the season this year is just a lot of practice,” he told “I worked hard over the summer to become a stronger player and a better shooter.”

The class of 2016 guard is looking forward to playing in another big Hoop Group event this weekend especially with all the exposure that comes with it.

“We are very excited,” he said. “Hoop Group is known across the nation as a place to get major exposure and that is something that we all are looking forward to.”
