Couldn’t have asked for a better first day yesterday as we tipped off our Summer Jam Fest. Overtimes and buzzer beaters to start our day and several highlighting plays along the way. As the day went on we saw some players who impressed, here are some:

Keith Braxton/Philly Ballhawks 17U

The Philly Ballhawks climbed back into their first round game against the West Chester Knights behind Braxton’s performance. After trailing by more than 15, Braxton’s performance helped the Ballhawks tie the game with under a minute to play, where Knights’ guard Pat Muray hit a buzzer-beater for the win.

Nathan Davis/PA Slam 16U

Against a strong Expressions Elite 16U squad, PA Slam kept it as close as possible for the first half, trailing by just one at the break. Davis had a big hand in that, attacking the basket while showing off a deep shot that was on point for the first 16 minutes.

Jahaad Proctor/Team PA 17U

In Team PA’s only game on Friday, the Holy Cross verbal commit was aggressive in going to the hole and shifting around contact to get points. That hustle seemed to rub off on the rest of Team PA, as they were able to cruise into the second round.

CJ Keyser/Mid Atlantic Select 17U

The lengthy wing was the focal point of Mid Atlantic Select’s tough victory over the Raritan Roundballers. Keyser, who holds offers from schools in the Atlantic 10, CAA and Patriot League, was able to use that length to grab rebounds over the opposition and finish for easy baskets.

Anthony Cowan/DC Thunder 16U

Already with a few high-major offers in tow, Cowan continued to impress with his overall court vision and passing touch that led to a big victory for his DC Thunder squad.

Daron Russell/Team Final Blue

The 5-foot-8 point guard put his handle on display and his opponent on skates, blowing by defenders to help both himself and his teammates to high percentage shots. Russell and Team Final Blue, a 15U squad playing up in the 16U division, made it known after their 15U Summer Classic East victory that they’re not letting up at Spooky Nook.

This is just a small portion from Friday. You can bet that Saturday will be even more exciting and have more guys who impress. Stay tuned for that.
