Manheim, PA– As the Summer Tip Off gets going, we are reminded how busy this time of year is for basketball players. Three big weeks of recruiting are about to take place this month, and Hoop Group will continue to provide a platform for players to enhance their recruitment. Enough talk, let’s play. NJ Shoreshots (Rice) heads to the Finals of the 17U Nook bracket after an exciting game versus York Ballers. Teams went back and forth for most of the game, but an 11-0 run late separated the Shoreshots and sent them to the final where they will meet Wayne PAL. NJ vs NJ Final!

Summer Tip Off Exposure 10:01 am Final Fours starting up. 17U Spooky action features NJ Shoreshots vs. York Ballers and PK Flash vs Wayne PAL. Who wants it more?! –@TheHoopGroup 8:56 am Rise and shine! Time to hand out some trophies! Well, not hand out, these championships need to be earned today. Four are ready to be given to a deserved victor….let’s get it going!

Saturday, July 11

9:01 pm Buzzer sounds and Gainesville Elite tops Crossover Elite in a consolation game. The significance of this? It’s the final game of Day 1 of the Summer Tip Off. Good action today, even more action left to be seen. Championship Sunday tomorrow, we’ll see you bright and early. 8:39 pm While the 17U Nook Bracket still has some clearing up to do, there are Final Fours all over the place. See the Updated brackets here. 8:02 pm In what was a back and forth thriller, Team Sizzle’s 15u team defeated the Metro Mavs in a one point thriller. Adrien Baldwin gave Sizzle a lead with 7 seconds left but a foul with .7 gave the Mavs a chance to tie. The first one fell, but the second hit front rim and Sizzle moves to the Final Four in the 16u. Josh Cornish lit it up with 29 points and 6 threes. Big time performance on the big stage. 7:21 pm

5:36 pm Couple D1 prospects moving on in the 17U Nook Bracket. Bruce Moore (McDonogh ’16) and Nathan Knight (Kimball Union ’16) will be advancing with their teams (MD3D, DC Blue Devils) to the next round. Would be a terrific match up if they met in the final. –@TheHoopGroup 4:47 pm Great teams, better jerseys. Who wore it best?

3:28 pm This summer has been the summer of Mikey Dixon (Sanford School ’16). We’ve seen him at Academic 1, Elite 1 and now Summer Tip Off. His recruitment is about to blow up this summer. Keep an eye out! IMG_4101 3:01 pm Look out for Jalen Smith, Class of 2019, of MD3D’s 16u team. Hasn’t even taken a high school class and is getting college interest. 6’10 and A LOT of skill. Buzz around the gym is he’s a high major potential! 2:11 pm Getting ready to watch the 16U NY Jayhawks, Mikey Dixon of Diamond State Titans 17U, the New Jersey Roadrunners, and much more! Things are starting to heat up here at Spooky Nook. 1:28 pm NJ Shoreshots (Rice) had a nice win to start their run in the 17U Spooky bracket. Jack McGuire (Christian Brothers Academy ’16) led the way for Shoreshots. His game has taken great strides since the Spring, and he should find his way onto more coach’s radars this July –@JN_Albano 12:21 pm Elijah Moss just helped NYC Shooting Stars top the South Jersey Blitz this morning. Up 2, he swiped the ball from his man, knocked down two pressure-packed free throws, and then got a rebound on the next possession, locking up the hard fought win! –@TheHoopGroup 11:47 am Coaches already up and out recruiting this morning. Vermont, Navy and Dartmouth were the first coaches in the building.
