Fall Jam Fest Weekend Recap

AAU programs took back the fall last weekend with Hoop Group’s 2017 Fall Jam Fest. The tournament showcased 42 teams from New Jersey to North Carolina and featured prospects from all divisions.

Games tipped off Saturday at 9:00 AM with a strong showing from 17U SJ Hoops Elite. In an early victory over Bulls Basketball Club, SJ Hoops had three players finish in double digits. Senior Dean Noll lead the team with an impressive 24 points followed by juniors Dan Swallow (14pts) and Steve Matlack (13 pts).

This momentum carried over to NJ Shoreshots Kessler. The Shoreshots road into day two of Fall Jam Fest on a two game high. After victories over Monster Basketball and NJ Racers, NJ Shoreshots trailed entering the second half for the first time of the tournament, 26-29, Hoop Nation Blue. With an offense lead by division 1 prospects Daniel Sofield, Jacob O’Connell and Eddie Davis, the Shoreshots closed the game with 12 points.

The black horse of the weekend was RI Elite. RI Elite lead by Coach Nick Light entered Fall Jam Fest with a young roster of players without college offers. The team battled through its bracket with a tight win over Team Speed, Prestige Patriots and SJ Elite before its 17U Championship victory over NJ Shoreshots Kessler.

As always, it was an entertaining weekend of basketball at Hoop Group with exciting performances from all our athletes especially our MVPs and standouts.

Player Standouts

Dean Noll | SJ Hoops Elite | 2018

Dean Noll was hard to miss this weekend putting up double digits in both his games. Noll is an impact player. He can hit the three, drive hard to the basket and create opportunities for his team. Noll enters his senior year with an offer from Calwell College. With his size and build, Noll is a player to watch.

Kharye Cayne | Juice All-Stars NC | 2020

2020 Kharye Cayne turned some heads this weekend with a major dunk in Juice All-Star NC match up against Game 7 in the 16U Championship. The 6’8 sophomore is the definition of a power forward with the size and athleticism to make plays around the rim.

William Soucie | Shoreshots Pooley | 2020

Soucie was impressive this weekend at Fall Jam Fest putting up double digits in two games, including the 16U Championship where he finished as MVP with 15 points. Impact player on both offense and defense.



Tavon Jones | Prestige Patriots | 2018

2018 division 1 prospect, Tavon Jones commanded the paint this weekend. Jones is an long athletic shooting guard able to attack the lane and finish around the rim. Jones was an offensive threat putting up an impressive 23 points against 17U Champions RI Elite. The 2018 currently holds offers from St Josephs, Stony Brook, Seton Hall, St Peters, Buffalo, Hofstra, Eastern Kentucky, Niagara, Quinnipiac, St. Bonaventure and Massachusetts.
