D2 College Coaches Saw Plenty of Talent at Hoop Group Summer Showcase

Dominic Hoffman- Gil St. Bernard 6’7 2012- He’s a true blue collar player who works tirelessly on the glass. Whether its setting screens, boxing out, or making the extra pass Hoffman does it with maximum effort and flawless execution. Every coach in the gym would love to coach a player like Dom Hoffman.

Jaren Sina- Gil St. Bernard 6’1 2013- Played the point guard position all weekend. He ran the pick and roll seamlessly with Dom Hoffman letting defenders pick their poison. Hit a number of shots and penetrated the paint fearlessly. Showed again why he is a high major player.

Wade Baldwin- Immaculata HS 6’2 2014- The point guard showed poise beyond his years. A solid athlete who scored well off the bounce, found open teammates, and limited his mistakes.

Alec Brennan

The 6'9 rising sophomore Alec Brennan is a promising prospect who is going to garner a ton of attention over his high school career.

Alec Brennan- Milton Academy 6’9 2014- The 6’9 rising sophomore played very well in the paint for Milton Academy. He never brought the ball below his shoulders using his height to his advantage. He’s a very intriguing prospect for the 2014 class.

Jason Huelbig- Middletown North HS 6’4 2012- He’s now the go to guy for North and thriving with an increased role. He is a deceptively elite athlete who finishes strong above the rim. He picked up a ton of D2 interest this past weekend.

Deandre Noble- Paterson Eastside HS 5’11 2012- The lefty guard probably boosted his stock the most this weekend with his outstanding play from start to finish leading Paterson Eastside to a deep run in the tournament. Noble played very smooth scoring in a variety of ways.

Malik Draper- Scranton HS 6’3 2012- The strong, quick guard was the straw that stirred the drink for the Knights. Played off his teammates very well understanding when to get them involved and when to take the ball to the basket for easy scores.

Terry Turner- Scranton HS 6’6 2012- Don’t let the Rec Specs fool you into thinking Terry Turner can’t play. Turner possess good ball handling skills with excellent court vision. Turner throws some laser passes to find open teammates in tight places.

Tom Lacey- Seton Hall Prep 6’7 2013- He is a bouncy forward who runs the court very well. Needs to add upper body strength to play more down low. Has a solid touch within 10 feet. He’s certainly a player to keep an eye on.

Tyler Ennis- St. Benedict’s 6’3 2013- Made so many big plays whether is was finding an open teammate, hitting the open shot, or penetrating the paint. The rising junior possesses elite level playmaking ability.

Quenton Decosey

6'5 Quenton DeCosey from St. Joseph's Metuchen is one of the top prospects coming out of NJ in the class of 2012.

Quenton DeCosey- St. Joseph’s Metuchen 6’5 2012- Put on a scoring clinic over the weekend hitting a number of 3’s while scoring inside the paint. He has a very high release point on his shot, which enables him to get a lot baskets inside of the paint.

Deandre Bembry- St. Patricks 6’4 2013- Flushed a number of dunks in traffic sparking a lot of questions of who is that? Well he’s a transfer from Rocky River Hill HS in North Carolina.

Christopher Jones- Teaneck HS 6’5 2012- A very strong guard with an excellent midrange jump shot. Jones doesn’t have blow by speed but is a very good athlete. His size allows him to finish strong at the basket with contact. Look for him to have a very good senior season.
