Day 1 Pitt Jam Fest: Top Performers

Pittsburgh,PA– The Pitt Jam Fest began tonight with four game sets and if the rest of the weekend is anything like tonight was, then we are in for a tremendous weekend of basketball. Teams came ready to play this weekend and early on, it looks like this weekend could be a recruiting goldmine for college coaches. Here are a few players who played well.

Mike Dixon (2016 | Diamond State Titans)

Mikey Dixon was unstoppable today, and was a big reason why the Diamond State Titans went 2-0 in their first two games of the day. Mikey scored 32 points in his opening game and coupled that with 30 in the round of 64. There’s no doubt he is one of the best scorers in the 17u Platinum bracket this weekend.

AJ Robinson (2016 | Hoop Hill)

We saw a lot of guys make shots yesterday. None of them were as consistent as AJ was however. The point guard shot an incredible 7 of 10 from three point range in Hoop Hill’s  loss to Wayne PAL. Robinson did all he could in the losing effort, and it was enough to give to a top performer nod.

Wolfgang Novogratz (2016 | LA Rockfish)

Wolfgang helped lead the charge in LA’s first win of the Pitt Jam Fest. He’s a player we’ve seen this past summer, so we already know he can play. He’s a heady point guard with a high IQ and tremendous passion for the game.

Cole Anthony (2019 | Team Rio)

Cole wasn’t the only one to play well for Team Rio, but his leadership on the court helps separate him from the rest. Rio, a 14u team playing in the 16u Platinum bracket, won their first game Friday night in convincing fashion and Cole helped the cause scoring 16 points and helping set up plenty of more buckets.

Zach Jacobs (River City Reign | 2017)

River City topped Beacon House 77-60 yesterday and Zach Jacobs was a big difference maker. He had 17 points and helped win the battle on the boards. Keep and eye on him as the 16u Platinum progresses.

Marc Rodriguez (Team Final Black | 2017)

Marc was absolutely on fire last night as 16u Team Final Black won their first game in the Platinum bracket. He scored 25 points and drained 7 three pointers. Numbers don’t lie, he can shoot the basketball.

Jahaad Proctor (The City | 2015)

Jahaad makes the top performers list for the second straight Jam Fest. Jahaad  is a big time scorer, and confirmed that when he scored 29 points in The City’s win yesterday. The unsigned 2015 recruit has great shooting ability and a very high basketball IQ.

Zane Martin (Team Final Black | 2016)

Zan had a big 23 point scoring effort in one of Team Final’s wins today. Zane knows how to score in bunches; he can put his head down and get to the rim, or he can hit from mid range. Zane also came up clutch, sinking two pressure free throws to ice the game.

Ryan Wade (Michigan Gators Elite | 2018)

Ryan started the day hot, but his efforts were not needed as much, as his Michigan Gators Elite team jumped out to an early first round win. Ryan had no problem helping the cause though, scoring 15 big points in the victory.

David Collins (PK Flash | 2016)

David is a face we’ve seen for two straight days now, after he was in attendance for the Pittsburgh Top 100 on Thursday. David tallied 18 and 19 in two games Friday night. With little question as to whether or not he can score, David possesses a tremendous shooting stroke and needs to be located on the floor at all times.

Wyatt Lowell (Arizona | 2016)

Wyatt is a very good Division 1 prospect. He’s got the length to be a 4 man at 6’9, but has the shooting stroke to be a stretch 4, and cause match up nightmares for teams. He had a great first day for the Arizona Warriors and will look to build off that today.

Jevon Smith (Young Legends | 2016)

Jevon had a strong 23 point showing in the night cap last evening. As Wisconsin United was pushed to their limits against CM3 Elite, Jevon provided his club with big baskets whenever they needed them. He’s at his best attacking the paint, where he can finish with soft touch or get to the foul line for free throws.
