LIVE Blog: Fall Jr. Jam Fest Day 1

Be sure to follow us throughout the weekend to get all of the updates from the Fall Jr. Jam Fest located at the Hoop Group Headquarters in Neptune, NJ

9:00AM– Good morning from Neptune, New Jersey! Today is the first day of the Hoop Group Fall Jr. Jam Fest, and we are very excited to see a great number of teams in action throughout the weekend! With two divisions, 13U and 14U, we will have two Champions crowned tomorrow afternoon, but to get there, each team must play two games today to reach the Playoffs, which begin tomorrow morning. We start the weekend with two 13U games and two 14U games that are ready to tip off, as Howell Ganter, Wayne PAL, Team Philly and Team United-Coates highlight the 13U action and Hoop Heaven Elite, Howell, Pure Bball and Team United-Brown represent the 14U Division. This should turn out to be a great weekend! –@JakerBaker58

10:00AM– Through the first set of games, we have a few blowouts on our hands as Team Philly of the 13U bracket wins 72-34. Led by two cousins of NBA Star Kyle Lowry, Team Philly is easily the team to watch out for at this tournament! #BeElite –@JakerBaker58

11:00AM– In the 14U bracket, Pure Bball has won their first game of the weekend in blowout fashion! They used excellent defense and offensive efficiency to take the early lead and never looked back! Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Rens and SHA Elite have also looked sharp, as they have won their first games as well. #BeElite! –@JakerBaker58

12:00PM– With a few more games going final, the stage is being set for tomorrow’s Championship Day! Check back HERE for all the final scores and the schedule for this weekend’s slate of games! –@JakerBaker58

1:00PM– In a very low scoring affair, PBC Run has defeated the Morris Magic by a score of 27-24. It wasn’t pretty, but PBC was able to hold on down the stretch and defeat the Magic. Plenty of basketball left to be played here today. –@JakerBaker58

2:00PM– Another set of games have finished. Here are some final scores in the 14U Division: Team Scan-62 Watchung-27, Hoop Heaven Elite-42 Team United Brown-38, Howell-50 Pure Bball-35, SHA Elite-52 Spartans Basketball-40 and Quincy Douby Elite-60 Wayne PAL-17. –@JakerBaker58

3:00PM– In the 13U bracket, Rise High and Howell Ganter have been on fire lately, just blowing teams out from start to finish. They stand at 2-0 and are primed to make a run tomorrow morning. For Howell Ganter, Team Philly stands in the way and they will have to deal with the size that Philly brings. –@JakerBaker58

4:00PM– With only one game left to be played in the 13U bracket, we are starting to see how the semifinals will shape out. Pure BBall, Howell-Ganter and Team Philly will make up three of the final four teams, while the last spot will belong to the winner of the last 13U game today, a game to be played between Rise High and Next Level Sports. Rise High looked very impressive in their opening games, shelling the Spartans Basketball club by a score of 62-14. Next Level had an offensive outburst as well, but gave up over 50 points to the very same team. This should play out to be an interesting one! –@JakerBaker58

5:00PM– That is all for today. Be sure to check back for tomorrow’s semifinal matchups, as there will be plenty of great Grassroots basketball all day long! –@JakerBaker58
