All Alfano Everything as Caseys Defeat Jackson Memorial in Girls Boardwalk Showcase

RUMSON- Red Bank Catholic showed why they’re perennially one the premier girl’s basketball programs in the country. Senior Alexandra Alfano nailed a wide open 3 to get the first points of the game and the Caseys never looked back. Red Bank Catholic improved to 12-1 beating Jackson Memorial 67-31

The Caseys dominated the first half with a stifling defensive effort holding Jackson Memorial to 12 points.

Jackson Memorial’s Hannah Missry (Fordham bound) and Stephanie Mason (Rider bound) couldn’t get anything going for the Jaguars. The two combined for 13 points. Coach Joe Montano knew stopping the talented seniors would be the key to the game.

“We switched everything, we tried to jump out and be aggressive, and we had our hands up high to try and bother their shots.” Montano said after the game. He also noted, “It helps when you start scoring early in the game.”

The Caseys had an equally impressive offensive performance. Game MVP Alexandra Alfano scored a game high 21 points scoring 14 of those in the first half knocking down her first 3 attempts from beyond the arc.

“It was important that we came out strong,” stated Alfano but she hardly took credit for the win. “I couldn’t have done it without my teammates. We all play as a team, we get it to whoever is open.”

Caseys also got major contributions from seniors Mary Kate Caverly 11 points and Caroline Cororan 13 points.

Junior Morgan Williams led the way for Jackson Memorial with team high 12 points. She was named game MVP for the Jaguars.
