Day 4 Elite Schedule

8:43 am Amazing how fast a week goes, it’s the last day of camp, but we’re expecting it to be the best one yet. Championships, awards and all-stars will be named today….and tons more recruiting! University of Virginia has already checked in bright and early. Let’s get started!

Thursday, July 16th

10:38 pm Day 3 has come to a close. We had another great day of camp and really got to see a lot of guys play well. The gym was packed with coaches, which was great to see as well. Tomorrow will be all star and championships. We’ll start bright and early with 8:20 am game sets. As always, check us out on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube for full coverage and recaps of the day, and week’s events. 9:51 pm It’s been a long day here at Albright, but several Division 1 programs are sticking it out to the end to evaluate players

9:02 pm One of the better big men at camp this week, Jimbo Lull (New Hampton Prep ’16) has been killing the competition here at camp. He’s a great big to play with since he plays hard, passes well from the post, and can make strong moves one-on-one. Has been great playing for the NE Playaz. 8:01 pm Confirming the obvious, but Tyrn Flowers (Sacred Heart ’16) is really good. 6’6 wing has guard abilities and can knock down shots. Was hitting off the dribble, fade-aways, you name it. –@JN_Albano 7:42 pm Donyell Marshall Jr (Orange HS ’16) impressing everyone with his defense this week. He is an elite shot blocker (averaged 7 a game his junior year!!) and is showing it this week in camp. Great timing on his block attempts. 6:26 pm ICYMI: Here were yesterday’s top performers. A lot of guys impressed. Day 2 Top Performers 5:55 pm Talk about a player taht can play above the rim and bury shots from the outside, Tyler Plummer, from CIA Bounce, is a monster recruit in the 2017 class. Saw him last year at Future All American Camp and he has grown a lot since. –@TheHoopGroup 4:29 pm Hard work starting to pay off for some guys

3:42 pm When Marcus McClary puts his head down, rarely does anyone stop him from getting to the paint. He’s quick and strong. Very good player out of NJ.

3:01 pm We sat down with one of our top recruits at camp, Jarrod Simmons and talked recruiting, camp, and his upcoming season at Cushing Academy. See the whole interview here: Jarrod Simmons: An Elite Talent on the Rise 2:23 pm Getting a look at two high caliber players right now: Tom Funk (Archbishop Wood ’16) and Jerome Derosiers (Northfield Mount Hermon ’17) are two players coaches need to have on their radars. Funk is a heady guard who makes his teammates better and Derosiers is a strong and athletic beast on the court. 1:34 pm It was hard to move with all the coaches upstairs this afternoon! Guys definitely had a big stage to shine on this week.

The gym is lined with coaches. Everyone is looking for their next big recruit. #PlayHardGetSeen #Exposure #HGElite   A photo posted by Hoop Group (@hoopgroup) on

12: 51 pm Love when guys are having a good time at camp. Makes all the hours of preparation worth it!

12:25 pm Coaches: See the rest of the day’s schedule right here! Know who is playing where and when. 11: 19 am Another Cushing Academy guard is impressing this week. Wabissa Bede (2017) is dominating competition, and having fun doing it! He is a scoring machine, but also likes to play the role of distributor, and set his teammates up for open shots. Look for much more from him in the last two days. 10:47 am

Read that article here. 8:32am We’re underway for day 3! Stations have begun and guys are looking to show out in front of college coaches all day long today. Let’s see who will impress!

Wednesday, July 15th

10: 56 pm Day 2 has come to an end. Another great day of camp, with players showing they want those scholarships; coaches definitely were treated to a great day of basketball. Best part is we get to do it all again tomorrow! Check us out on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube for full coverage. We’ll see you tomorrow! 10:47 pm A little fun to end the night. Great second day of camp.

Day 2’s @Gatorade Dunk of the Day! #HGElite A photo posted by Hoop Group (@hoopgroup) on

9:27 pm Just saw an outstanding game from Ryan Gomes (Friends School ’16) tonight. He shined under the lights outside, taking it to some of the best players at camp. He showed toughness on the boards, soft touch at the rim, and aggressiveness as he threw it down on a defender. Big time post player. –@TheHoopGroup 8:39 pm Can’t beat that view! As the sun goes down, games continue on the outdoor courts. CJ_vMgMWoAEIKep   7:35 pm HG One-on-One: Kimani Lawrence 6:43 pm Great showing of colege coaches as the live period began. Since then NCAA tourny schools such as Buffalo and West Virginia have joined us at camp!

4:06 pm Hoop Group sat down for an interview with returning Elite Camper, Chuba Ohams, he tells us Miami, as well as Dayton head coach Archie Miller, will be in the building to see him this week! See the interview on our Youtube Channel. 2:48 pm Couple guys from Elite 1 receiving offers after big weeks. Let’s see who will have offers coming in as the live period begins in just over two hours!

2:40 pm Campers enjoying a lesson from shooting coach Dave Hopla. Not this first time we’ve seen coach Hopla this summer, but no one better to learn the art of shooting from. He has been the shooting coach of several NBA teams, and even worked with Carmelo Anthony last year. 1:15 pm Coaches! Take a look at the afternoon schedule right here! 12:37 pm High major recruit Hasahn French (Commonwealth Academy ’17) has been a beast down low! Such a strong body and great skill. Minnesota, Nebraska, Seton Hall, VCU and Providence are high majors that have already offered! 11:54 am Check out the pictures we will be uploading to Facebook this week! Make sure you like our page!

10:19 am
Always a good sign when a player like Chuba Ohams (Putnam Science Academy ’16) returns for another week of camp. Top 20 player last week, looking to impress again this week

9: 41 am As the first NBA East set to begin, there is an interesting match up between RJ Cole (St Anthony ’17) and Mastadi Pit (Hampton HS ’17). Both players are very strong guards, capable of leading their team’s offense this week. Let’s see how this head to head match up turns out. –@JN_Albano 8:34 am Early start to games! Rain has gotten rid of our morning stations and we are going straight into game play to start our day. Early games means early sweat shops for those looking to get a morning sweat. Let the fun begin! –@TheHoopGroup

Tuesday, July 14th

10:01 pm That will wrap up the night! Solid first day of camp today, and three more big days ahead of us. Live period action will begin tomorrow night. Looking forward to seeing who walks through those doors. As always check us out on Twitter and Instagram for full coverage! 9:23 pm Coach Nee pumping the players up before a long week of basketball. “Big men, run the floor. Always sprint the floor and good things will happen.” “Guards, pass the ball! The pass is much quicker than the dribble.” Good tips of advice from coach! 8:38 pm Games are coming to an end and the camp will come together for a night time lecture. Tonight’s lecture will be held by former Nebraska head coach Danny Nee! Coach Nee has a rich history in coaching college hoops. Great person to learn from! –@TheHoopGroup 8:07 pm  COLLEG COACHES: In case you missed it, go check out our Twitter feed right now to see all the players who have checked into camp already. You won’t want to miss out on this talent. Go to our Twitter page here 7:13 pm

6:16 pm Tyree Pickron had an awesome freshman year at Archbishop Wood. He’s a big time scorer and a lights out shooter. Only going into his sophomore year, expect to hear a lot of his name coming out of Philly soon. –@JN_Albano 4:42 pm

3:30 pm As is customary with all Elite Camps, campers partake in stations before we start trial games. Instruction is just one of the pillars we base Elite Camp on. Competition and exposure will be coming up soon! –@TheHoopGroup 2:19 pm Guys like Ray Jerome balled out last week at Elite 1. Who will shine this week? Let’s find out!

12:32 pm Hundreds of players have come through to register already. Look for some big names to highlight Elite Session 2, including Chris Baldwin (St. Michael’s ’16 ), Ako Adams (Bishop O’Connell ’16), Chuba Ohams (Putnam Science ’16)  and Samuel Japhet-Mathias (Vermont Academy ’17)….just to name a few! 9:36 am Getting ready for the start of registration.
