8:00AM- About to get started here for day three of Elite Camp Session 2. Players are ready to step up and show what they’ve got in front of college coaches. Check back here regularly for updates on all the action. –@AndrewKoob

9:36AM– Former Siena head coach Mitch Buonaguro will be leading a pair of sweatshops this morning. Buonaguro brings an abundance of basketball knowledge and insight to the camp that players can really benefit from. He also previously coached at Fairfield University from ’85’-’91’ and was an assistant coach on Villanova’s 1985 National Championship team. – @CabWashington

9:45AM- And we are under way here at Albright, as the first set of games have begun with a fancy layup by Chiamaka Browne(Syracuse Academy, Syracuse, NY). Plenty of great basketball to be played today, make sure you check back as much as you can, and rememeber, #BeElite! –@JakerBaker58

10:10AM- Allante Holston(St. John’s, Washington, D.C.) just brought everyone to their feet with a posterizing dunk! I don’t think anyone is laughing at his pink shoes now! –@JakerBaker58

10:45AM- The dunk fest is starting early today! The most recent display was from Jermaine Hairston(Cleveland-Hill HS, Cleveland-Hill, NY), who took a lob pass from a teammate and flushed down a vicious tomahawk dunk on the defender. That was followed shortly with a reverse dunk by Troy Harper(Neumann Goretti, Philidelphia, PA) on a fast break. The campers are starting to get comfortable, and many of them are starting to show off their impressive skills and talents in front of a few college coaches in attendance. With this being the first full day of the Live Period, many coaches have been coming in and out to watch some recruits play against top-notch competition. Some of the schools present include Penn State, Niagra, Central Connecticut State, Stony Brook, Wagner, FDU, Towson, LaSalle, Colgate, Delaware, Robert Morris, LaFayette and many more to come! This week is certainly shaping out to #BeElite! –@JakerBaker58

10:56AM- Just spoke with Isaiah Briscoe about his recruitment. No new offers have come in for the 2015 guard, but he still holds plenty from the likes of Arizona, Ohio State, Florida, Indiana, Michigan and Syracuse, among many others. Briscoe says that Arizona, Florida and Syracuse are pushing the hardest and that his recruitment is still wide open. He will be visiting Florida’s campus during August. –@AndrewKoob

11:30AM- A great take by Donovan Wright(Blair Academy, Blairstown, NJ) to the hole for the And-1 bucket! The play was set up by his teammate, as well as fellow Blair Academy teammate, Marial Shayok. The trio of Wright, Shayok and Jonathan Nwankwo(Monsignor Scanlon, Bronx, NY) has been a treat to watch, as all three are destined to have a future in college basketball(Shayok has said that Boston College, Providence, West Virginia, Cincinnati, VCU and St. Louis have recruited him the hardest, while the other two are considered Division 1 recruits as well). This should come as no surprise, because the Hoop Group Elite 2 Camp has only the best of the best! –@JakerBaker58

12:07PM- Next couple hours will be pretty entertaining, Isaiah Whitehead (Lincoln (N.Y.) HS/ 6-4/ 2014) is on the floor in the Rec Center now and Hall of Fame coach Bob Hurley (St. Anthony’s, N.J.) will lecture the players after lunch. –@pfebbraro

1:30PM- Who says the young kids can’t dominate? After watching a full controlled scrimmage, David Erebor(Mt. Carmel, Baltimore, MD) has put that notion to rest! The big man is 6’9 with room to grow and he’s only going into his sophomore season! David was running the floor well, getting offensive boards, getting great weakside blocks and scoring points in transition and on the block. He’s the perfect example of why your grade doesn’t matter, just your skills and your will! –@JakerBaker58

1:45PM- After a good lunch, everyone is back in the gym, but they’ll be holding off on game action for a little bit, as Hall of Fame coach Bob Hurley is in attendance and will speak to the campers in what is sure to be a great lesson to all players. –@AndrewKoob

2:55PM- Spoke with Bob Hurley and a couple campers about Hurley’s speech, we’ll have a story on it coming later today. Until then, the afternoon games are underway and there will be plenty of more action as the day rolls along. –@AndrewKoob

3:15PM- After great instruction by legendary Coach Bob Hurley, the campers are on the floor and are ready to take what they just learned and implement it into their game. Austin White(St. Peter’s Prep, Jersey City, NJ) is filling up the stat sheets again, trying to become another great Jersey City product. Also making everyone’s head turn is his opposition, Kena Gilmour(New Paltz HS, New Paltz, NY), who has three dunks in three straight trips down the floor. What a great matchup these two are having! –@JakerBaker58

3:50PM- Everyone should be very excited for this next set of games, as we see some big men on display! Diago Quinn(AP Randolph Campus, NY, NY) and Trevor Rosenbaum(Woodstown HS, Woodstown, NJ) will lead their respective teams on the floor today, using their big bodies to dominate the post. This should be fun. –@JakerBaker58

4:39PM– Nice NCAA matchup finished up not too long ago. Ricky Mixon (Roselle Catholic, N.J.) had a very nice outing using his quickness to blow by defenders and finish in the lane. He also showed great poise passing the ball and finding the open man. Mixon’s motor gave him the advantage against a lot of players in the contest. Entering just the 10th grade, this kid has tremendous upside. Spectators should look for him to be a major contributor to Roselle who comes off a NJSIAA Tournament Championship last season. –@CabWashington

5:08PM- Alexander Newbold, a 5-11 guard from DeMatha (Md.) High School, is playing much bigger than he looks, grabbing a couple offensive rebounds among the trees and finishing with some put-back layups. –@AndrewKoob

5:47PM- With 13 seconds left on the clock in a tie ballgame, Isaiah Briscoe brought the ball up, killed some seconds off the clock and attacked with four seconds left. The junior, with just under two seconds, passed it off to Cameron Lewis for the easy layup as time expired, giving their team a two-point win. –@AndrewKoob

7:00PM- With the night games underway, the campers receive a little added pressure, knowing that the playoffs are looming. On court 1 we have a great NBA matchup, featuring Chase Kumor(Penn Charter, Phildelphia, PA) and Jamal Custis(Neumann_Gorettie, Philidelphia, PA) against Joe Robinson(Abington Friends, Jenkintown, PA) and Todd Hughes(Sanford School, Hockessin, DE). Should turn out to be another exciting night at Albright! –@JakerBaker58

7:45PM- With 8 seconds left to play, and the score all tied at 58, there’s time for one play to win the game. This is the perfect opportunity to step up and #BeElite! And that was exactly what the defense did! With two seconds left and the ball in the post, Ryan Richards Jr.(Canisius, Buffalo, NY) comes up with a fantastic weakside block that sends the game into Overtime! That’s how you #BeElite! –@JakerBaker58

8:15PM- Possibly the game of the week just tipped off. If you want Division 1 talent, then look no further. On one side you have Isaiah Whitehead(Lincoln HS, Brooklyn, NY) who is a top 25 player of the upcoming senior class, and has already made his mark on camp. On the other side, you have the teammates from The Blair Academy in New Jersey, Donovan Wright and Marial Shayok, who have teamed up with the Mutumbo of camp, Jonathan Nwankwo(Monsignor Scanlon, Bronx, NY). This game features 4 Division 1 prospects, and a bunch of other campers trying to step their game up to that level. We are in for a treat tonight! –@JakerBaker58

8:48PM– Justin Simon is having a pretty memorable game right now Court 1. With seven seconds left in the quarter, Simon stole an inbound pass, went baseline and hit a reverse layup to give his team a 50-49 lead. After the next quarter opened, Simon did it again on the defensive end, this time swatting away what could have been an easy layup. –@AndrewKoob

9:09PM- Casuan Caudle (2014), Preston Powell (2014), Florent Bouttier (2014), Otha Ward (2015) and Maurice Henry (2015) are all taking part in the final sweatshop of the day with Nyack coach Jay Crafton. –@pfebbraro

9:30PM- Still a few late night games going on, as Andrew Robinson(Spring Brook, Silver Spring, MD) is starting to take over the night! And if you’re just checking in, you missed one heck of a game as Justin Simon(Temecula Valley HS, Temecula Valley, CA) and Isaiah Whitehead(Lincoln HS, Brooklyn, NY) helped Team 1 complete and epic comeback against one of the best teams at camp! Even in the loss, Jonathan Nwankwo(Monsignor Scanlon, Bronx, NY) and Marial Shayok(Blair Academy, NJ) played tremendously and really showed what it takes to #BeElite! –@JakerBaker58

10:10PM- Andrew Robinson(Spring Brook, Silver Spring, MD) did his best to bring his team back from behind, but it was too little too late, as Mr. High Energy, Teigue Donohue(Albany Academy, Albany, NY) willed his team to victory and has them on fire as we head toward the Playoffs! –@JakerBaker58

10:50PM- After another great day of basketball, it is time for everyone to get some sleep! Tomorrow is Championship and Awards Day, so everyone has to bring their “A” game! Be sure to check with us again tomorrow, for our final LIVE Blog of Elite 2 Camp! The Blog is now CLOSED. –@JakerBaker58
