Hoop Groups’ Spring Jam Fest opened up today at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex in Manheim Pennsylvania. The Showcase started off strong on Friday with some great games being played and some great players showing out for the college scouts.

Over 360 teams are here at The Spring Jam fest and 127 College coaches are here to find talent. Get ready for 2 more days of great basketball here at Spooky Nook!

Here are some close games from Friday:

The Early Risers started off strong with a 10 to nothing lead, but the NJ Shoreshots refused to give up. The Shoreshots managed to tie up the game by half time. Point guard Danny Fraunhiem hit the dagger with 1.2 seconds left and secured the Shoreshots victory 57-55.

JB Hoops had an exciting finish against Team Finest. After their lead turned into a tie with 7 seconds left, SG Gregory Eck hit a 3 as time expired for the buzzer beater win for JB Hoops (71-68).

Rhode Island Elite Pulled out a close one over PK flash in the last Seconds of Overtime. After being tied at 69 the majority of overtime, Hustle defense got Rhode Island a steal that led to a just as the buzzer sounded. Elite won 71-69.

 

Player Highlights

Danny Fraunhiem (NJ Shoreshots) is a  PG with a lot of toughness and a high basketball IQ. His 12 points in The Shoreshots victory included the game winning jumper with 1.2 seconds left.

Justin Kupa (Positive Image) is a 6-2 PG who showed his shooting ability in his round 1 victory against Bump City.  Kupa drained 3 from behind the arc and had a total of 15 points.

Joshua Samec (JB Hoops), the 6-8 center scored more than a third of his teams points (25) in the thrilling victory over Team Finest.

Jamari Johnson (Rhode Island Elite) dropped 22 points in a win against Team Loaded, and 20 points in his second victory of the day.

Pete Nance (Akron Bobcats) is 6 foot 10 inches tall with a variety of skills. He Brought the ball down the court, showed dribbling and shooting ability with the hustle and the height to block several shots on the defensive end. Nance was watched by Michigan’s Head Coach and an assistant coach from Northwestern.

Nick Timberlake (Metro Boston) Has a monster game in the first round. He scored 25 of his teams 60 points in their 5 point victory over River City Reign. He is a true finisher with at least 3 dunks. Timberlake will take a prep year.

Antonio Rizzuto (York Ballers) – The 6’2” Guard did it all in his victory against TNBA. Rizzuto scored 28 points and 15 of them came from behind the 3-point arc.

Caleb Matthews (Team Final Black) The PG is sleeper in the 2018 class SHooter/ Floor game

Ronnie Silva (DC Blue Devils) a 5’9” PG who had  7 3 pointers’. He is a lights out shooter and he showed that in the victory over Team Takeover.

Charles Coleman Jr (Wrightway Skills) (2019) is a 7 footer with a sturdy frame who can easily clog up the lane on defense.

Tyreke Williams (River CIty Reign) (2018) A 6’8” forward with a strong post game, he can score with both hands around the basket. Williams is drawing Division 1 interest from schools such as George Mason.
