NEW TOP 10/ WEEKLY AWARDS AND VIDEO

That loud roar you heard last week across the East Coast was the Shore Conference. In a week that saw the Shore Conference rip though the states ranked team. We saw two other Shore teams go outside the state and do exactly the state thing. We also saw Ocean County join the big girl club.

THE ROUND UP-

THE SHOWED WHY IT’S THE BEST CONFERENCE IN AMERICA

SJV let everyone know once again, they don’t rebuild they reload. SJV was down by 5 with a minute left against #9 University when MADDIE DORING knocked down a three and SARA  KARPELL stole a pass moments later and scored to seal a win for SJV. But the Lancer’s were far from done as they beat the #3 team Rutgers Prep and #4 ranked Franklin in the same week. In case your not counting, that’s 3 wins over ranked teams in 7 days…SJV was beastly.

Manasquan as if not to be out done by SJV beat two ranked teams. First they defeated Lodi Immaculate and then blew out Saddle Day River. They lead by 26 points when Lisa Kukoda emptied her bench. Saddle Day once again to pad their stats. It’s nice to see the state writers are catching on and making mention of this fact. Dara Marbey had a career high 38 as the Triangle of Death keep living bodies all over the state.

RUMSON FAIR HEAVEN continues to defy the odds. After the Bulldogs were manhandled by Rutgers Prep, they bounced back and knocked off Franklin. Tori Hyduke who struggled in the first half finished with 28 points. But she got lots of support from her backup cast. RFH continues to be the surprise team of the year.

TOM RIVER NORTH jumped all over #13 Ewing as if they stole money from them. They blew the doors of the Trenton team. Brielle Bigsono had 29 points and was sensational all day. Her side kick Jenna Paul kicked in with 16 points and 9 rebounds. TRN lost the biggest game in Ocean County in years to Manchester the following night, which put a damper on their holidays.

MANCHESTER was a force in the WOBM as they cruised to the title. In an anticipated match-up with Toms River North, Manchester put on a show for the Ocean County faithful. Freshman Destiny Adams walked away with the MVP but it was Karmeri Reynolds and Dakota Adams great play vs Middletown South which allowed everyone to witness the greatness of Destiny Adams the next day. Manchester most likely will be ranked in the Top 20 for the first time in the schools history.

RBC won the Diamond Classic by outlasting two ranked teams from Delaware. In the Championship game they defeated #2 ranked Conrad Sciences in a war. In one of the physical games I’ve ever seen. KATIE RICE knocked down a big Three and later got a offensive rebound on a miss free throw to seal the win. ROSE CAVERLY was the tournament MVP.

ST. ROSE took on three of the best teams in the country. In game one  they saw the impact of not having Coach Chambers. They were up 10 points with 3 mins left and no shot clock only to lose to Ohio mega Powerhouse Pickerington Central at the buzzer. It was a painful  lost, when you consider Pickerngton beat National Power Mater Dei of CA to win the title. St Rose beat National super powers St. Antony’s of Cali and Ursuline in there other 2 games. St Rose was  3 mins away from being ranked Nationally in the Top 10…they are waiting for the return of Coach Chambers.

DONOVAN CATHOLIC fell big time, when its leader Paige Slaven was rushed to the hospital last week. Catholic got drilled by TRE as Joydan Madigan had 18 points on a her way to the WOBM ALL TOURNAMENT TEAM. They then lost by 2 points to Brick 2 nights later. It was a rough holiday as they will try to regroup after the holidays.

JACKSON MEMORIAL keeps getting better as they won there Holiday Tournament. KRISTINA DONZA had 20 points int title game. Bianca Giordano added a team-high nine assists with five points, six rebounds. They are a team to keep a eye on because of all the young talent. Danni Evans who is just a junior has a chance to be special, giving them 3 very talented players.
