While the 17U NJ Roadrunners may have been eliminated, the 16U team keeps on moving forward. They just beat a tough Burlington ISBA squad. Justin Porter (Ewing HS ’16) has 16 points and Brandon Anderson (Don Bosco Prep ’16) led the show, going for 21 and draining 5 threes. Roadrunners will play Jersey City Boys & Girls Club tomorrow.

Here’s what the gym looks like right now

7:04 pm
We’ve seen a lot of guys who know how to shoot the basketball today. Add Tahj Eaddy (Coastal Academy ’15) to that list. His USAD squad put up 41 first half points and he more than did his part by hitting 5 three pointers. You must know where he is at all times. –@TheHoopGroup

6:46 pm

6:11 pm
2 teams who deserve to go on, but only 1 can. Who will it be?
Couple guys trying to lead their teams to wins right now:

5:29 pm
Canada Elite holds off the Raritan Roundballers and will advance. Very talented team that could make a run this weekend.

5:17 pm
Wayne PAL found themselves down early, but were able to eliminate a 6 point halftime deficit and take down the Jersey Cyclones. With the last possession, Sean McKinless (St. Joe’s Regional ’15) sunk a tough three to give PAL the lead. The Cyclones couldn’t hit a miracle to tie and Wayne PAL moves on.

4:52 pm
With great prospects on both sides, MD3D and CM3 are drawing a lot of attention to their game right now. MD3D currently has a double digit lead in the 2nd half and Charles Duckett is draining threes. He has 4 on the game. –@JN_Albano

4:19 pm
Ian Helps did all he could for NY Minutemen vs. Team Price. He finished with 15 points, but Team Price came out on top and advanced.

3:31 pm
Another buzzer beater from a game that ended a few minutes ago; this time it’s Raekwon Ingram with the game winner for 16U CM3.

3:07 pm
We also saw a battle of NJ go on at Headquarters. NJ Got Game and NJ Roadrunners battled back and forth in a game that was watched by many scouts, coaches and fans. With neither team getting much of an advantage, the Roadrunners got the best of NJ Got Game, escaping with a three point win. Rising senior Kelly Hogan led the Roadrunners with 18 points. –@JN_Albano

3:03 pm
Big game just ended at Hoop Group Headquarters. Team FOE outlasted Bay State Jaguars 56-54. Team FOE was down 1 when Steve Pendleton hit a big three and was fouled. After he completed the 4 point play, Jonathan Lawton stole the inbound pass for a lay up to seal it. The Jags hit a 3 at the buzzer, but it was not enough. Lawton (Friends Central ’15) led all scorers with 16 points. –@TheHoopGroup

Burlington ISBA found themselves in the 16U championship at Summer Jam Fest, can they make a repeat performance here at Buzzer Beater? Ivan Bilandzic is trying to make that happen.

1:12 pm
Monroe County All-Stars have gone on a nice run to create some separation from Positive Image. Donte Crumpler leads the way with 15 and Patrick McLamore has 8 point in the second half.

12:35 pm
Here’s another great finish. Wayne PAL edged CT Elite by 1. Elite had a 4 point lead, but 2 steals by PAL tied it up. PAL then found themselves with the ball and time running down, see how it ended:

12:24 pm
In what was another crazy finish, CM3 Elite defeated Starting 5ive 51-48. Neither team was able to gain much of a lead the entire game. With the game tied at 48, CM3 got a huge and-one with 5.6 seconds left and the game was sealed. Awesome game.
