Providence Jam Fest: Jared Reuter Gearing Up for Next Live Period

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After playing injured during the April Live period, Tabor Academy forward Jared Reuter is getting back to full strength, as he showed it on Day 1 of the Providence Jam Fest at Rhode Island College.

The 6-foot-8 forward played through an ankle injury during the Philly Jam Fest, but looked back to form during the New England Playaz’s win over New York Dream Team. Reuter could only laugh when mentioning that it was the second straight spring he suffered a sprained ankle during the AAU season after going through an injury-free prep season.

Reuter is looking to remain healthy and have a big summer, especially during the July Live period.

“I’m going work as hard as I can, all around, trying to be the best player I can be and be ready for the next evaluation period,” Reuter said.

As for recruiting, Reuter is still a prized recruit for the Class of 2015. He holds high major offers from Indiana, Boston College and Providence. Though Reuter said Gonzaga has increased its interest in him.

“There hasn’t been a lot this season,” Reuter added. “Not many coaches come to Tabor. It’s the same ones that have been recruiting me last year.”

Tabor plays in the smaller Class A in the NEPSAC, which is prompting Reuter to make a big change heading into the fall, transferring to Class AAA powerhouse Brewster Academy, the same prep school that produced Michigan freshman center Mitch McGary.

I’m going to transfer to Brewster Academy after this school year,” Reuter said. “About a week and a half ago I got in and all my papers done.”

Brewster will have an incredibly talented front court with Reuter and returning forward Chris McCullough, who has already committed to Syracuse. The Bobcats also return guard Kevin Zabo and Jared Terrell.

“I’m excited to play with their other big guys and their good guards,” said the future Bobcat forward. “It’s going to be awesome playing with him (McCullough) obviously.”

Reuter has some big things on the horizon heading into this summer.
