In the meantime here is our staff’s favorite moments of 2011:

President: Rob Kennedy- “Herb Magee, speaking at Skills camp 2 days after being inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame with fellow Hall of Famer, Bob Hurley. They both embody the definition of “coach” well beyond their 1,950 combined wins!!” See Video

Tournament Director: Zak Boisvert- “My favorite Hoop Group moment of 2011 was Jaren Sina’s buzzer beater at Summer Classic East. Down 2 to Sports U in the semifinal game, Sina took a hand off from Alex Mitola and buried a 3-pointer in the face of a Sports U defender.” See Video

Tournament Director: Kyle Griffin- “Watching the Future All American Camp All Star Game. There was tons of great talent and it featured Hoop Group Elite Directors Kevin Driscoll and Chad Babel in an epic coaching battle.” See Video

Elite Director: Chad Babel- “My favorite Hoop Group moment of 2011 was the Hoop Group Elite Team Camp on July 9th & 10th. This was by far my favorite event of the 2011 calendar year and featured high level high school programs from across the East Coast. The best moment of the event for me was the 6:00pm game set on July 9th which pitted Gonzaga (DC) vs. St. Joseph’s Metuchen (NJ) on Court 1, Jamesville Dewitt (NY) vs. South Shore (NY) on Court 2, St. Anthony’s (NJ) vs. Nansemond River (VA) on Court 3, and Roman Catholic (PA) vs. Bishop O’Connell (VA) on Court 4 in the Recreation Center at Albright College. With hundreds of college coaches, scouts, and fans in attendance.”

Elite Director: Kevin Driscoll- “Discovering new talent during our Top 100 tour and camps. Some guys come to our events with hype but it’s always more fun to find the unnoticed gems out there and tell college coaches all about them.”

Skills Director: Chris Zupko- “My favorite Hoop Group moment of 2011 was having 2 Hall of Famers at camp during the Summer. It was great to have Coach Herb Magee speak at the Bob Hurley camp. It is great to have a rich tradition of coach at Hoop Group Skills Camp”

Skills Director: Kim Waiters- “My most favorite and memorable Hoop Group moment in 2011 would have to be my introduction to Coach Tiny Green. He’s a one of a kind person with everlasting energy and enthusiasm”

Digital Media Director: Dave Krupinski- “After Josh Brown won MVP at Spring Jam Fest he mentioned that Temple was his dream school during an interview. Playing at St. Athony’s playing time wasn’t available immediately and Temple’s coaches never seen him play but caught wind of the interview. Once they saw him play they offered him a scholarship and Josh Brown will be attending Temple in 2013.” See Video

Director of Hoop Group Headquarters: Darren Cohen- Making an impact in the local community bringing in more kids into Hoop Group Headquarters to learn the game from Coach Tiny Green. I also amazed everyone with knocking down 50 half court shots.”
