Manasquan Looking to Keep Rolling

The undefeated Manasquan Warriors will look to continue their hot streak against Point Pleasant Beach in the Boardwalk Showcase. Coach Andrew Bilodeau heads a team that has been extremely solid on both sides of the ball. The Warriors’ high powered offense combined with their stingy defense have made them the frontrunners for the Shore- A Central Division title. Moreover junior Tommy Sheehan thinks that Manasquan looks to be a serious contender for the Shore Conference, and possibly more.

Sheehan told that ‘Squan has their sights set on another Group 2 State Title. Sheehan, a Hoop Group regular, has been working hard in the offseason to ensure that the Warriors accomplish nothing less than a title this season. Sheehan cited conditioning and ball handling as two major focuses of his training.

Of course, he also recognizes that basketball, in particular Manasquan basketball, is a team effort. “We have to stay healthy, play well as a team and be unselfish. We will need our bench players to step up and help us to win” he said.

Manasquan is no stranger to this event, they took down Matawan in a thrilling 42-40 victory last year. Sheehan seems to expect more of the same this year. When asked if he was looking forward to the event, Sheehan responded with: “Yes we always enjoy playing in it because we are one of the few teams that get to play in the event and we will be playing a good team in Point Beach.”
