Reading High School – Reading, PA — We’re here at Reading High School for the Hoop Group Reading Tip Off Showcase. We have a great double header on tap for tonight as Chester will take on Berks Catholic and Reading will play host to Penn Wood. The Reading Tip Off Live Blog is officially closed. HUGE thanks to Reading High School for all their help. Also a big thanks to Berks Catholic, Chester, Penn Wood and Reading for giving us two fantastic games tonight. Our first #HGShowcase was a success and we look forward to next weekend. We’ll be live from West Orange High School for the NJ Tip Off. Stay tuned for recaps of tonight to be posted on Monday. Good night!

What a game. Penn Wood had a chance to ice it with 10 seconds left. They led by three, but Calvin Melton cold not convert from the line, giving Reading a chance to tie. Unfortunately, Lonnie Walker could not capitalize and the Reading faithful were quieted as Penn Wood took home a 65-62 win. Addison Scott was the MVP with 30 points and Lonnie Walker was Reading’s Most Valuable Player with 29. Awesome way to end this showcase.

Reading is down, but not if Lonnie Walker has something to say about it. He is taking over right now for Reading. Addison Scott doing a good job responding for Penn Wood, but will it be enough? This place is rocking right now!

Addison Scott has been stepping up for Penn Wood. He just hit a tough shot with a hand in his face, and got fouled. Old fashioned three point play and Penn Wood takes a 42-40 lead with a minute to play in the third quarter. –@TheHoopGroup

Reading started the half with a steal and basket by Ty Gibson Jr. to regain the lead. Since then the teams have been trading baskets and the lead. Will someone gain the edge and build a lead? We’ll find out!

Reading is down, but momentum may be on their side to start the second half. Expect a tough 16 minutes from these two teams.

Penn Wood jumps on top with the lead. Just under 3 minutes to go in the half, they lead 26-22. Both teams playing with tremendous passion. –@TheHoopGroup

Final Score: Chester 69 Berks Catholic 62. Conor Jack led all scorers with 20. Marquis Collins had 17 for Chester and Khaleeq Campbell had 15, all on three pointers. Reading and Penn Wood warming up now.
