Reading Tip Off Showcase: 2015 LIVE Blog


Reading, PA– High School basketball is upon us, and with that, the Hoop Group High School Showcase series begins. As always we head to Reading for the first, for two great match ups: Constitution versus Berks Catholic, and Archbishop Wood versus Reading. The beginning of the season leaves every team with high hopes and expectations, that’s no different here. The live blog is open!

The Reading Tip Off Showcase has come to an end, and the first in season high school showcase gave us great insight into what Pennsylvania basketball has to offer. The next showcase will be next weekend at Caldwell College as we will tip off high school hoops in New Jersey!

Lonnie Walker took over in the 4th and helped bring Reading back, but an and-one but Tyree Pickron all but sealed a Wood win. Could not have asked for a better atmosphere for a high school basketball game! -@TheHoopGroup

Wood has everything to celebrate about right now. Big run has them up 16. They are playing extremely hard.

At the half, Army commit Tom Funk has Wood up 28-24. Sophomore Tyree Pickron leads Wood scoring with 9 points.

Here are your two MVPs from game one: Tamir Green finished with 21 points in Constitution’s win, freshman Casey Jack finished with 16 for Berks.

At the half, Tyrone Nesby and Berks Catholic trail Constitution 31-21. A quick regroup for the Saints could be what they need to propel them back in this game.
