Providence JamFest Day 1 Top Performers

A lot of players were worthy of being a top performer today, but here are the top five players that stood out on Day 1 of the Providence JamFest.

Jarrod Reuter- 17U NE Playaz- Reuter is a big bodied post player who showed a variety of moves down low. He seals well and is pretty patient when he gets the ball in his hands down low. He also uses his body to set solid screens and knows when to slip for easy baskets. He had 19 points in NE Playaz’s three point win over House of Sports.

Theo Holloway (Paulsboro ’15)- 17U Team Speed- Holloway was very impressive on the offensive end for Team Speed. He showed an ability to attack the rim under control and also step back, but also knock down the three. At 6’5 and with great quickness, Holloway definitely showed why he deserves to be looked at.

Jackson Donahue (Northfield Mt Hermon ’15)- 17 U Middlesex Magic-This guard had a huge day and was a key reason the Middlesex Magic went 3-0 today. In their last game against Mass Rivals, he seemed to have his hand in every play, setting up teammates or scoring himself when the opportunity presented itself. Definitely a play to watch moving forward.

Jonathan Nwanko (Monsignor Scanlan ’15)- 17U House of Sports- Nwanko was a beast in the post today. He attacked the glass on offense and kept plays alive for his team time and time again. Nwanko also had a few dunks that both, ignited his team and got the crowd buzzing. He already has a few high major offers and will certainly have more coming.

Jordan Nwora- 16U Juice All Stars- I’d be remissed if I didn’t mention the game he had today. Nwora went for 40 points today. If that’s not impressive enough, he made NINE consecutive three pointers. A lot of players get hot hands every now and then, but nine straight? There’s only one way a player does that and it’s because he is a flat out shooter. A very good day for the 16U player.

These players stood out today in a very good field of play. Will we see repeat performances tomorrow and in future AAU tournaments? Or will tomorrow be filled with new names and faces? Follow our Day 2 Championship LIVE Blog to find out.
