The DMV is a hot bed for basketball talent. One prospect from the DMV that has drawn a lot of attention in the Hoop Group Showcase League (HGSL) is 2025 Jeremiah Gorham of Global Squad. Gorham currently attends the Highland School and possesses a high IQ on and off the floor. Academically, Gorham possess an astounding 4.4 GPA and has rightfully garnered interest from several high academic colleges and universities. On the court, Gorham has been a leader for Global Squad HGSL with a stellar turnover to assist ratio and lethal stroke from beyond the arc. In addition to leading Global Squad to 4-0 record at Southern Jam Fest, Gorham was impressive at Indiana Jam Fest in April averaging 20.7 PPG and 5.7 APG including a 22 points and 8 assists outing against a talented Wildcat Select 3SSB team.Â
I recently caught up with Jeremiah to discuss his current recruitment, plans for June, and more!
BP: How would you describe yourself as a player?
JG: I am someone who can really give an offense some life. I can dribble, shoot and I'm a playmaker. Defensively, I have active hands, I give a lot of effort and get after loose balls. I do a good job of get in passing lanes. I do whatever it takes to win.Â
BP: Who are you currently hearing from in the recruiting process?
JG:Cornell, Princeton. Drexel, American and Lafayette have all reached out to my coach recently. Cornell is going to watch me during the June Live Period.Â
BP: How has the experience been playing with Global Squad HGSL?Â
JG: It's been really cool. It's allowed me to meet a lot of new people from overseas. Coach John (Alexander) is demanding and I like coaches that will push me.Â
BP: Where will you be playing during the June Live Period?Â
JG: DMV Live with the Highland School
BP: What are you looking to improve on before July?Â
JG: I want to cut down on turnovers and rebounding the ball.
BP: What are your goals outside of basketball?
JG: I want to stay around sports. Being a sports analyst is a dream for me.Â
BP: What are you looking for in a college?
JG: I want to go to a school that offers Communications as a Major and I am looking to improve as a player. I want to play for a staff that believes in me and pushes me and somewhere where I can be challenged academically.Â
Gorham will be at DMV Live for both June Live Periods as well as Atlantic City Jam Fest (July 10-12), Summer Jam Fest/HGSL Championship (July 13-14) and Summer Finale (July 19-21) with Global Squad HGSL.Â
