Lehigh Valley Showcase Player Profile: Q&A with Virginia commit Casey Morsell

Class of 2019 guard Casey Morsell from St. John's (DC) is one of the headline players in the Hoop Group's Lehigh Valley Showcase. The Virginia commit will lead his team against Bethlehem Catholic (PA). He spoke to HG Insider on his experience this season and much more.

Q: You are now in the middle of the high school season. What have you learned about your team this year?

A: “This year, I've learned that this team is going to never give up and has potential to be one of the best in the country when we are locked in for thirty-two minutes plus.”

Q: How has this high school season made you appreciate your journey up to this point?

A: “Time is flying by fast. In less than two months, I'll be playing my last high school game. That's crazy to think about, but it has made me appreciate all the people and close relationships you built.  The laughs and memories are things I'll cherish forever.

Q: Are you guys where you want to be? What are some things you guys are looking to improve on?

A: “I wouldn't say we're exactly where we want to be, but we're heading in the right direction.  I just think we need to clean up little things that make a big difference.  If we can stay locked in for thirty-two minutes plus then we'll be fine.”

Q: What are people going to learn about St. John's when they see you guys play at the Lehigh Valley Showcase?

A: “When people watch us play, they'll know that St. John's is an unselfish fast pace team that brings versatility, intensity, and athleticism at every position.”
