This year's 2020 HOOP GROUP MOST IMPROVED PLAYER, may come as a surprise to many because she is the focal point of the RBC offense. Ally Carman's rise to stardom has been predicted. When St. Rose Coach, Mary Beth Chambers, was asked what she thought Ally Carman would look like in a few years, she answered with "what is she going to look like next year"....She was 100% correct. Because Ally Carman these days is the most dominating post player in the Shore Conference.
CARMAN WAS A MEMBER OF THE 2019 ALL FRESHMAN TEAM
The growth of a player is always the measuring stick of a players greatness. Ally Carman of Red Bank Catholic has had more growth than many players will have in a career. She has become the one player every opponent has to game-plan for more than any other player in the Shore Conference. Her size, strength and offensive talents make a nightmare matchup for just about every team in the state. Her soft touch around the basketball and physical style of play in the box, makes her a prime recruit for just about every P5 school in the country. Ally Carman has willed herself into greatness. She has progressed faster than anyone could have possibly imagined.

This past season Ally Carman was RBC's leading scorer and 2nd leading rebounder. It was this past season when Ally Carman doubled her stats in just about every category. This was a season where Carman seemed to grow up and mature faster than most people expected. Her intensity as player grew and her competitive nature grew as well. But what was most impressive, was that Ally Carman being so dominate while playing half a game most nights. Rarely did the Sophomore play 20 minutes in a game. What she did do was maximize her time on the floor. Just like last year when she was named to the THE HOOP GROUP ALL FRESHMAN TEAM. She is now the first All Freshman Team member later to be named the Most Improved Player the following season. It's just another sign of what's in front of Ally Carman.
CARMAN ON THE RIGHT WAS A PILLAR OF STRENGTH FOR RBC
Last Summer, Ally Carman put in massive hours at the gym in an effort to step up her game up. She changed her body and improved her conditioning. She was MVP at the NBS summer camp....something nobody saw coming. Just like we didn't see this confident, dominating force approach us. Her mother, who played at Georgia Tech, is considered one of the best players in Shore history. My guess is that this Summer Ally Carman will take her improvements to another level and join her mother at some point as one of the best. There is no doubt Ally Carman still has work to do as a player, but one thing is clear: she's willing to do to the work. And if last year was any type of sign, we are looking at possibly the most dominating player in the Shore Conference...maybe even the state. For now we will just stayed tuned and watch this young lady continue to grow… CONGRATS TOÂ
