Hoop Group Virtual Training Sessions

Hoop Group would like to thank all of those who participated in our virtual program throughout COVID-19 quarantine. In conjunction with the state of New Jersey and Governor Murphy, Hoop Group has resumed its in-person training at Hoop Group Headquarters and numerous other facilities. Virtual training

In light of the current situation our nation faces, Hoop Group aims to continue to deliver the best basketball instruction for all of our student-athletes. Hoop Group is excited to announce the launch of Hoop Group Virtual Training. Hoop Group Virtual Training will allow players of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to train with Coach Mike Rice, Coach Tiny Green, and other coaches on our full-time staff in an online setting from home. Each training session will feature live, on court instruction and feedback through Zoom allowing players to follow drills being taught by each coach. Additionally, as resources may not be available to everyone, student-athletes will have the option to attend a session that will feature drills with or without a basket. We WILL play again! Until then, STAY READY!

Best Practices

Use laptop w/ Wifi over a cell phone. If using a cell phone, make sure that it is charged at least 75% and/or have your charger nearby. Set your laptop/Ipad/Cell Phone on an elevated surface (chair/table/desk) and move 10ft from the screen to give our coaches the best view of you and your training space.

When entering the Zoom meeting put your device on mute via the Zoom app to allow everyone to hear the coach's instructions. You should remain muted unless you would like to ask a question to eliminate background noise/bouncing ball. It is also helpful to connect to wireless headphones/airpods or bluetooth speaker.

Edit your contact name (first and last name) when entering the meeting so coach's can identify you. If you are not asked to create your name BEFORE entering the meeting, you can edit it by clicking on your name under the participants icon.

When a coach is teaching make sure you stop what you're doing and hold the ball on your hip - "hold the ball like a pro". You will get what you put into the workout. Our coaches will be there to help instruct and motivate you along the way.
