Jaylen Blakes breaks down the latest with his recruitment

Q: You finished off an impressive junior season with Blair Academy. What did this season mean to you?
A: "Finishing the season ranked 7th in the country for Prep schools and with a league championship feels great! I love going to battle with this team as we had a very competitive schedule and overcame several challenges this season. We had to deal with several injuries and a lot of comeback victories. Day in and out we played tough, we gave it our all and we had each other's back. No matter the challenge presented we fought our way through it, we are a family."
Q: You recently received an offer from Harvard. What did getting this offer mean to you?
A: "This offer meant a lot to me because I value basketball, but most importantly I value education. I know that the ball will eventually stop bouncing. This offer also meant a lot because I felt and saw firsthand the joy and pride on my family's face when I received the offer from Coach Amaker. I also received messages from younger people that look up to me about how they were inspired and excited about my future."
Q: What schools would you say have been the most active with you?
A: "The schools that have been most active are Rutgers, Harvard, Yale, Stanford and UConn."
Q: As you continue to blow up, what do you think people are learning about you?
A: "I think they are learning on the court that I am competitive and will always give it my all. Also that I can lead, inspire and teach others. Off the court I think people are learning that I'm a good person, with a heart of gratitude that values family, friends and education."
