Today we announce The Hoop Group 2025 Freshman of the Year. In a highly competitive class, ARI WISSEN separated herself and proved she was not just the best freshman in the Shore Conference but one of the best in the state. 

When this season started, there was a buzz surrounding Ari Wissen. She had played beyond her years in the high school summer league at the Front in Monmouth County. With her quick handle and style of play, it was clear that she was special. As a freshman, she stepped into a leadership position for day one as a starter.Despite the pressure put on her, ARI performed and helped her teammates find success. She embraced every challenge put in front of her d despite a target on her back.

Ariana Wissen is an elite point guard who excels at leading the offense, controlling the pace of the game, and making her teammates better. She has great court vision, high level basketball IQ, and is the definition of a play maker. She has the ability to break down the defense and create open look for teammates. She is an efficient scorer at all three levels. Whether driving to the basket with her elite handles or knocking down mid range and three's at a high shooting percentage. She's a relentless competitor and has one of the best work ethics I've ever seen. Always the first one on the court and the last one off the court mentality. On top of being a great basketball player she's a tremendous kid that excels in the classroom as well. With a roster loaded with talented freshman. She was asked at times to carry the team offensively. She brought BRICK newfound energy and gave them that edge all the good teams need. Ari Wissen game is more than a box score. It is more than points, dimes, and rebounds. Her game is about leadership and stability. Ari brought a quiet swag and presence on the floor unique from any other freshman. 

This season Ari Wissen had 

• 367 points 
• 100 rebounds 
• 83 assists 
• 52 steals

Those are shocking numbers for unselfish guard. What these numbers do not represent is Ari's impact on her team and her IQ. She has timing that defies her years. One day she will be playing at D1 school. 

This year Ari Wissen validated all the hype before the season. This year when the competition for Freshman of the Year was the toughest, it has ever been… ARI WISSEN walked walked away as…. ARI IS THE FIRST BRICK TWP FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR
