First Let me say Congratulations to our 2024 ALL DEFENSIVE TEAM. There are two returning members and 3 new members. This year's team is a special group.
"Teams had to game plan around her which is the highest compliment given to a great defensive player.
She set the tempo of how the game was going to be played and when she was on, pretty much all the time, then the others followed suite. She had close to 400 steals in her career but if they had assists for steals she would have had a 1000. She made people throw bad passes or lob passes because she was such an active and our other players knew they could cheat an extra step because of that"…QUOTE, Matt McCarthy , Trinity Hall Head Coach
NINA EMNACE – SENIOR- TRINITY HALL
Nina Emnace becomes the FIRST player in history to win our defensive PLAYER OF YEAR in consecutive years. She is also our first two time winner of the award. She is the most dynamic on ball defender in recent Shore history. The Harvard bound senior nicknamed the "Cookie Monster" has been picking the pockets of some of the best players not only in the Shore but country, since she was a freshman. But it's not just her on the ball defense that made her special. She disrupted team's offenses, single handedly at top of Trinity Hall's 1-3-1 defense. Her timing for forcing turnovers at the right time was impeccable. As she stepped into passing lanes for steals or intimidated ball handlers. More importantly she averaged 4 rebound's from the point guard position, an unappreciated added bonus. She had a 161steals this year in a variety of ways that would take too long to list. Just like it would take too many hours to count the number of deflections she had this season alone.
NINA EMNACE was the biggest defensive force in the state of New Jersey. She is the true definition of not just a stopper but a nightmare and stopper of entire teams. Her leadership on the defensive end was energizing to her teammates. She set the defensive tone and table for TRINITY HALL, game in and game out, regardless of the opponent. She was a force that teams had to prepare for and expect to disrupt their offense. NINA EMNACE Initiated heartbreaking traps that crushed and broke opponents' spirits. Her active hands, quick thinking, and ability to adjust made her a once-in-a-lifetime defender. With her devastating half-court defense presence to boot, she was a problem to all. It will be a long time before we see another defensive player like Nina Emnace. It's why she is our "ONLY" THREE time member and TWO time DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR…Congrats to the THE 2024 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR, NINA EMANCE OF TRINITY HALL
